Miranda Lambert’s Romance With Anderson East Confirmed By His Stepfather, Does Blake Shelton Know Yet?

It’s official! Miranda Lambert and Anderson East, real name Michael Cameron Anderson, are dating. Following Us Weekly’s report earlier this week, which claimed the two singers had been dating for about one month, East’s stepfather, Randall Ennis, has confirmed the news.

After Miranda Lambert’s new boyfriend’s stepfather noted the two had been dating “for a couple of weeks,” he offered the following statement to In Touch Weekly.

“Michael’s an awesome kid. He’s got his head on straight and knows what he wants in life… He’s just an amazing kid. He’s outgoing, he just never meets a stranger. He’s very polite.”

According to Us Weekly, the 32-year-old’s Americana/R&B singer boyfriend was born in Alabama and enjoys hunting, just like she does. The magazine also claimed Miranda Lambert was planning on spending New Year’s with East, although their exact plans weren’t revealed.

Despite Miranda Lambert’s new relationship with East, 27, being a hot topic in the media, as was her July 2015 divorce from fellow country singer Blake Shelton, Ennis admitted that he didn’t know much about Miranda Lambert prior to her romance with his stepson.

“To be honest with you, I don’t really follow country music so I really didn’t even know who she was,” he explained.

When asked whether or not East would soon introduce Miranda Lambert to his mother, Ennis said, “Oh I’m sure he will!”

Since her divorce, Miranda Lambert has been linked on a number of occasions to Sam Hunt, beginning in October of this year, just three months after her shocking split. However, the two singers, who will soon embark on a multi-country tour together, were never spotted together publicly. Up until this point, there was never any sort of evidence that the two dated at all.

Although there has been no confirmed news up until this point in regard to Miranda Lambert’s love life, she has stayed in the public eye through her music and through social media since splitting from Shelton earlier this year.

As for whether or not Blake Shelton was aware of his ex-wife’s new romance, a Hollywood Life source claimed he found out about Miranda Lambert’s new boyfriend from his mother.

“Blake’s mom told him about [Miranda Lambert] and Anderson West dating after reading about it on the Internet,” the source explained.

While Miranda Lambert is getting to know her new man, her ex-husband and his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, are also enjoying a public romance. However, the relationship between Shelton and Stefani is far more public than any details regarding Miranda Lambert and East. In fact, new photos of the pair are shared online nearly daily, and on social media, they’ve made their relationship no secret.

Now that Miranda Lambert’s romance with East has been made public, fans will surely be on the edge of their seats waiting to see when the new couple takes their relationship on the road and begins making public appearances together like Shelton and Stefani.

In addition to news of Miranda Lambert’s relationship, the country singer recently faced criticism after sharing a photo of herself in a fur coat, which she received from her grandmother on Christmas. After posting the photo on Instagram, Miranda Lambert’s fans slammed her in the comments section of the photo. A short time later, PETA released a statement to Entertainment Tonight.

“We had higher hopes,” PETA Vice President Lisa Lange said. “Since [Miranda Lambert] rescues dogs, we always thought she could see that whether fur comes from a mink, a fox, or a dog or a cat in China, the source is always a gentle animal who did not want to die.”
