‘GTA V’ Holiday Celebration Continues With Special Online New Year’s Sales Event

After breaking all previous sales records set by the popular open-world series to date, it’s hard to imagine that there are any interested gamers left who still haven’t purchased their own copy of Grand Theft Auto V. However, it looks like Rockstar Games is hoping to move a few more units before the year is up.

After already offering numerous sales on most of their video game lineup throughout the holiday season, the developer is ending the year by giving fans one final opportunity to take advantage of another full developer sale on all of their hit titles such as GTA V.

As 2015 comes to close, Rockstar Games reminded fans on Twitter that there are only a few days left to take part in this week’s New Year’s sales event. In addition to Grand Theft Auto V, digital versions of all of the developer’s games are currently 20 percent off in the Rockstar Warehouse for the rest of the year.

More details on the end-of-the-year sale were provided when the event began right before Christmas late last week. The official Rockstar Newswire blog announced the start of the sale immediately following the end of similar discount period. The savings apply to all digital downloads of any PC game purchased through the developer’s own online storefront.

“If you’re looking for some last-minute stocking stuffers for fellow GTA fans, or ideas on how you might spend that post-holiday loot, the Digital Downloads section of the Rockstar Warehouse is currently offering 20% off all PC and MAC Downloadable games.”

For those who have been thinking of picking up Grand Theft Auto V, the year-end sale is expected to be the last chance to get a cheap copy of the game this holiday season. In addition to GTA V, gamers can also check out discounted digital versions of earlier installments of the Grand Theft Auto franchise. Rockstar Games also points out that the sale extends to the rest of the developer’s digital library as well.

“Move quickly and pick up the latest generation of Grand Theft Auto V on PC at 20% off to fully enjoy the ongoing Festive Surprise 2015, and you can get 20% off of all PC Shark Cash Cards to help support your Yacht Life aspirations as well. Also save on classics like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, GTA III, and Bully along with Rockstar fan favorites like L.A. Noire, Midnight Club II, and much, much more.”

While this week’s digital sale is intended to bring new players to Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar Games is also currently hosting a special seasonal event in GTA Online that gives fans access to plenty of new holiday features for a limited time. As the Inquisitr detailed last week, one of the most anticipated parts of GTA Online‘s festive surprise event includes snowfall throughout Los Santos. Since the launch of Grand Theft Auto V, users have only been able to enjoy this rare winter weather once a year.

To match the snowy landscapes of the game, users can also now dress up in a variety of holiday-themed outfits to help celebrate the season. All player-owned apartments have also been temporarily decorated, complete with lighted Christmas trees. Users that logged into Grand Theft Auto Online last week also received special holiday gifts such as a limited weapon capable of launching fireworks.

Giving players one final treat for the holidays, Rockstar Games also added a new Adversary Mode to GTA Online that lets players fight each other as super-powered beasts. As with all online content, the latest competitive mode was given to all players for free.

With all of the online events taking place in GTA V for the holidays, the New Year’s sale is a great time for new players to try out the game’s online features.
