Lamar Odom Update: Children Land In Los Angeles As Khloe Kardashian Prepares To ‘Distance Herself’?

Lamar Odom recently received a very special visit in the hospital. According to an X17 Online report on December 29, Lamar Odom’s two children, Destiny and Lamar Odom Jr., were photographed at LAX, an airport in Los Angeles, on Monday, likely en route to see their ailing father.

Although the two children flew to Las Vegas the day after their father was found unconscious at a legal brothel, they haven’t been photographed since, as they are based out of New York City, where they are currently enrolled in school. When the two children flew to Las Vegas, they were joined by their mother, Lisa Morales, whom Lamar Odom dated for several years, and Lamar Odom’s aunt.

Earlier this month, Us Weekly reported news of Lamar Odom’s plans to spend Christmas with his children, and while Christmas Day has come and gone, the children are now in Los Angeles, and will hopefully be able to stay in town for the next several days until their winter break has ended.

“[Lamar Odom] has fought to get better mostly for them,” a source told the magazine on December 17. “He is supposed to be moved to the rehab center any day now. [Lamar Odom]’s actually making progress every day.”

On October 13, Lamar Odom was found unconscious with mucus flowing out of his nose and mouth by women working at Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Pahrump, Nevada. After calling 911, the former professional athlete was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was said to be in a coma. For days after the incident, which was reported as a drug overdose, Lamar Odom remained in a coma with many of his organs failing. Then, with wife Khloe Kardashian and his children at his side, Lamar Odom awoke and was eventually moved to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he’s been ever since.

While Lamar Odom’s children were once close with Kardashian, due to the couple’s four-year marriage, Kardashian left town just as the kids arrived. According to E! News, however, it was Kardashian who flew the children into town as she headed to Houston to be with her boyfriend, James Harden, who, along with the Houston Rockets, will take on the Atlanta Hawks later tonight.

“Khloe flew [Lamar Odom]’s kids out to L.A. so they can spend time with him, and Khloe came to Houston for a few days while his kids are in LA with him,” the insider told E! News.

The site also noted a prior report, in which a source claimed those close to Lamar Odom were hoping he would be out of the hospital by the time his children arrived.

“The family is continuing to be optimistic about having [Lamar Odom] into a rehab center before Christmas. Either way his kids are flying out to be with him, whether it’s at Cedars or the new center in Calabasas that he will be relocated to,” the source had said.

Meanwhile, as Lamar Odom prepares to enter a rehabilitation center, a source claims Kardashian is feeling overwhelmed by the complicated dynamic of her and Odom’s relationship. Below is what a source told Radar Online earlier this week:

“It’s a delicate situation, because [Lamar Odom]’s so sensitive and there’s no easy way for Khloe to tell him she’s not coming back [as his wife]. She’s finding the whole strain of running his finances and medical planning way too much to bear, since so much of her own life has had to go on hold.”

Life & Style also claimed Kardashian was planning to “distance herself” from Lamar Odom.
