Melissa McCarthy Flaunts 50-Lb Weight Loss & Fashion Line For 4 to 28 As She Materializes In Female ‘Ghostbusters’

Melissa McCarthy doesn’t need to stress when it comes time for those New Year’s resolutions. The 45-year-old actress devoted the past year to winning her weight loss battle, shedding more than 50 pounds, and launching a glittery, glamorous new fashion line for women ranging in size from 4 to 28. Add in showing major success at the movie box office, and Melissa has achieved more in 2015 than most people do in a lifetime.

Most recently, McCarthy flaunted her newly sleek physique on a California shopping expedition with her kids, reported the Daily Mail.

Slim and trim in a black outfit, Melissa was accompanied by her two little girls. Georgette is 5, while Vivian is 8. And that cute top came from the fashion line that McCarthy began to provide women of all sizes with the glittery, glamorous clothing choices that Melissa loves herself.

McCarthy hasn’t tried to hide her disgust with an industry that makes it challenging for plus-size women to locate attractive, trendy attire. She recalls once reaching out to six different uber-chic designers for clothes for the Academy Awards. All of those designers rejected Melissa because of her curves.

Her new Melissa McCarthy Seven7 website expresses how she hopes that her own designs can answer the need that she and so many other women have for flattering fashions.

“I believe that women deserve better choices. Fashion should help us express our individual personalities. Clothes should flatter our bodies, and not just try to cover us up.”

As for how Melissa achieved her weight loss success, McCarthy has sought to focus on discussing the emotions involved in slimming down rather than a specific diet. The actress admitted that she had previously felt stressed about her weight, and that when she stopped worrying so much about the number on the scale, it made a noticeable difference.

“I feel amazing and I finally said, ‘Oh, for God sakes, stop worrying about it’ and it may be the best thing I’ve ever done,” commented Melissa.

In addition, McCarthy also credited her fitness regime for the Spy fight scenes for motivating her to move more, with the help of a martial arts teacher, as the Inquisitr reported.

“The second I knew I was doing the movie, I started training with an amazing martial arts instructor,” noted the actress, who also followed a high protein diet.

Those moves will help Melissa with her next challenge. McCarthy is set to answer the question of “who ya gonna call” with the new Ghostbusters reboot.

In addition to McCarthy, Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon,
and Leslie Jones are ready to make those scary spirits beware, providing the female versions of Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray in Ghostbusters, pointed out Entertainment Weekly.

“If this doesn’t work, we go back and lose our [right to] vote,” joked Melissa. “I’m talking presuffragette.”

However, with the success that Bridesmaids experienced with the team of McCarthy and Wiig, it looks as if the vote is safe. The reboot is set to materialize July 15 in movie theaters.

As for the controversy to which Melissa alluded, Bustle pointed out that some were upset about the idea of a reboot, as well as an all-women‘s cast. But in its favor are two factors that promise to make it hilarious. Wiig, McKinnon, and Jones are all Saturday Night Live-level entertaining, and McCarthy has served as a highly amusing SNL host on her own on three occasions.
