Ryan Phillippe And Longtime Girlfriend Get Engaged

Actor Ryan Phillippe and longtime girlfriend Paulina Slagter got engaged over the holiday weekend. They were last seen Sunday at a restaurant in Miami, Florida. The news certainly made it a memorable holiday weekend and conclusion to 2015 for both parties. An insider at E! News had more information about the scene.

“They arrived in Miami on Sunday and had lunch at Seaspice, where they ate facing the river at the owner’s table. She was really cute and humble about the way she showed off the ring.”

People reports the couple will stay in Florida for a New Year’s Eve party at Watson Island to ring in 2016. Ryan and Paulina have been dating for four years, so it’s safe to say that both were ready for this occasion.

A few days ago, after the news went public, the couple was seen partying at Rockwell with celebrities like DJ Khaled and Quincy Combes. They were drinking champagne and dancing together all night.

Phillippe is currently involved with the TV show called Secrets and Lies, which he’s been appearing on since March of 2015. The show was renewed for a second season at the end of May.

In a recent interview with Howard Stern, Phillippe went on about Paulina.

“She’s awesome. When people see her they have these judgments because she could be a model but she’s about to graduate Stanford Law. Also what’s great about it — as you get older certain issues become more important to you. I’m very involved in civil rights issues, and so to be with a woman who could actually make an impact in the legal realm — that’s a beautiful thing.”

Before Paulina, Ryan was married to Reese Witherspoon. Together they have two kids, a 16-year-old daughter named Ava and a 12-year-old son named Deacon. He also has a daughter with actress Alexis Knapp.

“I think more of the problem was age. When we got together we were so young,” Phillippe said. “I think it can create issues with two people in this industry because there’s so much noise that goes along with it.”

The two are still very good friends despite the divorce.

As for Reese, she’s recently been seen in the movie Hot Pursuit and is scheduled to appear in the new film Sing, which comes out in 2016.

Witherspoon has since moved on and married Jim Toth, a talent agent and co-head of motion picture talent at the Creative Arts Agency. They announced their engagement in May of 2011 and married on March 26, 2011. They have a son named Tennessee James Toth, who was born on September 27, 2012.

Ryan Phillippe is 41-years-old and has done a lot of other interesting things in his career. In the late 1990s, he starred in films like I Know What You Did Last Summer, 54, and Cruel Intentions, a movie in which Reese Witherspoon also starred.

He also appeared in more recent movies like Breach, Flags of Our Fathers, and Stop-Loss.
