Kourtney Kardashian: 2015 May Have Been A Tough Year, But ‘KUWTK’ Star Still ‘Thankful For Where It Brought’ Her

At times, 2015 may have been a rough year for Kourtney Kardashian. That’s not stopping the 36-year-old Keeping Up With the Kardashians star from being thankful.

On Monday, Kourtney shared her 2015 best nine photos on Instagram, and captioned the photo with her thankful feelings, writing “Whatever happened over this past year, be thankful for where it brought you. Where you are is where you’re meant to be.”

Each of Kardashian’s #bestnine photos feature at least one of her three children, and one photo noticeably features ex-boyfriend Scott Disick and 3-year-old daughter Penelope Disick hugging. Together, Scott and Kourtney have three children together: Mason, 6, Penelope, and Reign, 1.

In July of 2015, Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick split after nearly a decade together. The breakup, which played out in the public eye, came after Disick was seen cozying up with ex-girlfriend Chloe Bartoli in the south of France. After the breakup, Scott’s partying exploits were documented and analyzed extensively, and he was said to be dating everyone from a Kardashian family friend to an 18-year-old model.

Kourtney Kardashian’s ex has struggled with substance abuse — both in public and on Keeping Up With the Kardashians — for many years, and after the Kourtney-and-Scott breakup, Scott elected to visit rehab for the fourth time in a year. This time around, Scott stuck it out and spend more than 30 days in his rehabilitation program.

Many reported that the self-proclaimed Lord stayed in rehab for so long in an effort to gain visitation rights with his children. Others reported he was hoping to win Kourtney Kardashian back. Find out more about Scott Disick’s rehab stint in the video below. (Article continues below video.)

Other photos from Kourtney Kardashian’s Instagram top nine included pictures from Halloween. In fact, three of the top nine photos feature Kourtney and her three children dressed up as superheroes. Another photo shows Penelope and cousin North West decked out in mermaid attire and hanging out with an adult mermaid.

These were perhaps some of the happier times in what many believe to have been a difficult year for the oldest Kardashian sister. On Sunday, Kourtney posted a cryptic quote to her Instagram account that led many to speculate that the mother of three may be feeling some emotional pain in her life. The quote reads as follows.

“The prettiest smiles hide the deepest secrets. The prettiest eyes have cried the most tears, and the kindest hearts have felt the most pain.”

Kardashian captioned the photo quote with a simple blue heart.

After she posted the quote, celebrity blogger Perez Hilton called Kourtney Kardashian’s quote “heartbreaking.”

“Despite her typically reserved nature, on Sunday Kourt posted a very emotional and candid Instagram message alluding to her stressful year in 2015. Let’s just say the post is a bit heartbreaking! … Whether K.K. was referencing her dramatic split from Scott Disick in July, it’s clear the reality star is hurting from something.”

Perhaps the stress of the holiday season could have been getting to Kourtney, as she seemed to post cryptic messages to Instagram throughout the entire month of December. In early December, for example, Kardashian posted a series of photos at what appeared to be a horse stable. On one of the photos, Kourtney says that one day she “will move away from it all.”

And let’s not forget, in October Kourtney’s entire family dealt with the shocking blow of Lamar Odom’s hospitalization. Kourtney didn’t just deal with personal turmoil in 2015, she also handled the difficult situations faced by family members, as well.

Regardless of whether or not Kourtney Kardashian believes she had a tough year in 2015, one thing is obvious: Kourtney is thankful for the year she’s had, as it has helped her to reach the a new point in her life.
