Each year at WrestleMania, Vince McMahon always tries to gather the best acts he has to entertain the millions across the world for their biggest show of the year. Since WrestleMania 27, McMahon was able to secure his best draw of all-time, the Rock. At each show, Rock had a significant part that always turned out to be a memory from the show. His two shining moments came from his two back-to-back matches with John Cena at WrestleMania 28 and 29.
For this year’s WrestleMania, it was unknown as to if Rock would show up. He’s busy filming movies all year and his status for the big show as up in the air. Last week, Rock told the people that he would have a surprise for them today before WWE Raw. When this happened, he made sure to mention the WWE Universe in his post. That was a bit of a clue for those involved in wrestling.
In one Instagram post moments ago, the Rock was able to capture the eyes of every wrestling fan on the planet.
“IT’S OFFICIAL: People’s Champ is coming home to do 3 things with THE PEOPLE: Set an ALL-TIME attendance record, ELECTRIFY Dallas like never before & make all time #WRESTLEMANIA history. And we have FUN. Ok that’s four things but you know what the h*** The Rock’s sayin’… THANK YOU #WWEUniverse! It’s always an honor coming home and I wouldn’t miss it for the world. #PeoplesChamp4L #MakingElectrifyingHistory #SmackethLaidDownOnThyCandyA***”
If that wasn’t enough to ensure skeptics, WWE.com just posted a report about the Rock returning to the WWE at WrestleMania 32 in Dallas, Texas next year.
“The Grandest Stage of Them All will now feature The Most Electrifying Man in Entertainment. Taking place in the home of the Dallas Cowboys, WrestleMania 32 is expected to host the largest crowd in sports-entertainment history. WrestleMania will air live on the award-winning WWE Network, and tickets for the huge event are available now at ticketmaster.com.”
That last part was the all-important reason as to why Vince McMahon wanted to bring back the Rock for this special occasion. He wants to make this the biggest WrestleMania of all-time, even though that seems like the common goal each year. At WrestleMania 30, the world witnessed Daniel Bryan rise to greatness. Last year, Seth Rollins became the first man to cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase at WrestleMania and do it successfully.
As for the Rock’s participation last year, he decided to shock the world when he teamed up with the world’s most-popular athlete, Ronda Rousey. They entered the ring together to confront Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. Rousey teased hip-tossing McMahon, when it was Triple H who fell victim to the former-Women’s Bantamweight champion.
It was a great moment, but its time has passed. Now, it’s WrestleMania 32 that has the entire wrestling world talking. How will the Rock be involved in the big show? Since he is very busy, it’s not guaranteed that he’ll find time to train in the ring. Expect him to partake in a verbal battle with another star. Or, he may be there to challenge Lesnar in a match.
That was a heavily-rumored match in the past and it could come to fruition if WWE officials want it to. There’s always the chance of the Rock facing the WWE champion, Roman Reigns. It’d be a non-title match, but the two cousins would face-off for the first time, and perhaps the last.
