Slipknot’s Corey Taylor is letting it all out in his latest interview with Rolling Stone. The heavy metal band’s front man is airing out his feelings on both Justin Bieber and 5 Seconds of Summer.
Don’t expect Taylor to stay being a Belieber. The interviewer asked him his favorite moment in pop music in 2015, and mentioned that he used to like the Biebs, but doesn’t anymore.
“Yeah, until he started becoming a f***ing caricature of a spoiled brat. Honestly, the only real pop music I hear is through my kids. There was a lot of Babymetal being played in my house this year.”
That’s when the Slipknot musician got lost in his thoughts, and brought up 5 Seconds of Summer, who are apparently one of his big fans.
“There was a lot of 5 Seconds of Summer, who I actually got to meet not too long ago, and apparently they’re massive Slipknot fans, which I did not see coming. And they were really, really cool guys. I couldn’t name one of their songs, but I’ve heard of them.”
Then when it finally came to answering the question about the best moment in pop music, Corey revealed that he doesn’t like that genre because most of it sounds the same.
“I’m just so out of loop when it comes to pop music, because it all sounds the same. It’s all the same chord progressions with the same quirky chorus, or the same hip-hop beat that took 21 people sitting in a room to come up with. It bores me.”
The Sydney band, 5 Seconds of Summer, have already created controversy with their Rolling Stone cover story. The boys posed fully naked with black-and-red graffiti sprawled on their bodies and their hands conveniently covering their genitals. Not only did they get naked for the cover, but they also revealed all when it came to admitting they slept with some of their fans during their first tour.

Luke Hemmings, who went through an intimate photo leak earlier this week, revealed that they took advantage of the attention they received when they started getting big. Then 5 Seconds of Summer opened up about Justin Bieber’s American Music Awards after-party and Nickelback front man Chad Kroeger.
But pop music is not all that Taylor spoke out about. During his interview with Rolling Stone magazine, Taylor also revealed his thoughts on Donald Trump and the rest of the 2016 presidential candidates. When it comes to the “worst thing” he saw happening in pop culture in 2015, it was seeing Donald Trump running for president.
“And just because he’s a f***ing talking head on television, people are taking him seriously. Between that and the fact that he is appealing to some crazy f***ing fear in the conservative wing of America, it is scaring me to be honest.”
But there’s one presidential hopeful that’s making Corey feel hopeful about being an American once again.
“Bernie Sanders, however, just doesn’t give a shit. And that is so f—ing refreshing. That dude has balls the size of church bells. I think if it came down to the debate, Sanders would shred Trump. Shred him. And I think he’s got 10 years on Trump.”
