Xbox One, PS4, Wii U—Why Choose If You Can Have Them All

Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Wii U fans have been involved in an endless debate for years: which console is the fairest of them all?

Sony’s PlayStation 4 has had a solid following throughout the years, with an overwhelming history behind its latest-gen console; Microsoft’s Xbox One hasn’t been too bad either, spewing innovation after innovation that threatens the PlayStation giant; Wii U has its own niche, its own preferences, and a crowd drawn to its charms. Each latest-gen console has its own unique attributes that leads us to our conclusion: why choose if you can just play with them all? And if you’re sold on getting them all, why buy each one separately, for an unimaginable cost, if you can grab the whole bunch for just $569.98?

GameStop, one of the leaders in providing gaming and tech needs to both the able and the not-so-financially-able, released yet again another one of its jaw-dropping sales: the Pre-Owned Next Generation Hardware Bundle by GameStop Inc.

The Pre-Owned Next Generation Hardware Bundle includes the three most sought-after consoles of today: the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Wii U. The catch is, of course, you’re getting refurbished versions of the consoles. But we attest to the charms of owning a refurbished console, getting an Xbox One for example for almost half the price, but getting the whole gaming experience a brand new Xbox One could offer. If you’re overly concerned about the units being refurbished (if this is your first venture into the used goods territory), you’ll be glad to know that GameSpot flew over to Texas in 2012 to check out GameStop’s refurbishment center and came back satisfied.

GameStop’s Divisional Vice President of Refurbishment John Daugherty shares what a “refurbished” unit–and for this case, an Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and WiiU–actually means:

“We’re looking at repairing it; getting it back to that original factory condition. Not upgrading it, not downgrading it, but getting it back to where it is…you’re not just trying to get it working, you’re not trying to sell it to a customer and in 30 days or 60 days they have a bad experience with it, because they’ll never come back to you again.”

In fact, GameStop’s refurbishment center is not only all refurbishing. They also develop inside the center new and cool stuff like their in-house $40 wireless Bluetooth controller for Android games, and upgrade refurbished units like the refurbished PlayStation 3 pre-upgraded with a 1 TB hard drive.

Interested yet? Good. Going back to the GameStop bundle, it includes an Xbox One 500GB console in black with one wireless controller and HDMI cable; a PlayStation 4 500GB console in black with one DualShock 4 wireless controller and HDMI cable; and a Nintendo Wii U 32GB in black with GamePad, GamePad AC Adapter, Sensor Bar, and HDMI Cable.

The GameStop bundle reads that the deal is only available online via the GameStop shopping website, and ships only to U.S. addresses. So those outside the U.S. wouldn’t be able to take advantage of this amazing deal just yet. Stocks are also limited, so better grab one as soon as you can, if you’re interested. The deal also comes with GameStop’s Pre-owned Guarantee, so if you’re not satisfied with the items shipped to you, you can return the product within seven days for a full monetary return.

If you haven’t yet bought a decent Christmas present to your Xbox One-lover hubby or your PlayStation 4 fan for a son or daughter, then you could definitely grab this great deal by GameStop, and arm them for the upcoming wave of phenomenal games that are coming to Xbox One and PlayStation 4 come 2016 like Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Gears of War 4, and The Legend of Zelda.
