Kim Kardashian Obsession: Five Reasons Fans Loved The ‘KUWTK’ Star In 2015

To read comments on the internet, it would seem as if Kim Kardashian has no shortage of haters. Despite the fact that Kim K and her Keeping Up With the Kardashian counterparts are slammed daily online, one thing is obvious: The world at large is still obsessed with Kim Kardashian.

At least, that’s what Time magazine said on December 22, when the magazine reported that Kim Kardashian was the most-Googled person in 26 countries, which was matched only by Argentine soccer player, Lionel Messi. Another soccer player, Cristiano Ronaldo, fell third on the list, as he was the top-searched person in 21 countries.

Kardashian dominated searches in countries such as France, Canada, the United Kingdom, Poland, New Zealand, and of course, the United States.

So why, oh why, if Kim Kardashian has so many haters, were so many people searching for her in 2015?

Well, for starters, the reality TV star had a huge year. Not only was she able to keep herself in the news, but she was able to do so for a plethora of positive reasons. For instance, Kim’s philanthropy was on point this year as she showed fans just how kind of a heart she really has.

Earlier this month, for example, Kim randomly saw a show about a teenage girl who was trying to collect 2,000 shoes for charity organization, Souls4Soles. Kardashian immediately took to her social media accounts in search of the girl so that she and husband Kanye West could donate 1,000 pairs of shoes to the teenager’s cause, allowing the young girl to reach her goal.

Speaking of social media, there’s no denying that Kim K was, once again, a social media maven in 2015. Her presence on networks such as Instagram, Twitter, and the like are matched by few, and the manner in which she allows fans to glimpse into her life is nearly unparalleled.

Sure, there’s plenty of promotional material across Kardashian-West’s social media accounts, but Kim is also a pro when it comes to sharing selfies and shots that provide insight into her life. Kardshian’s social media accounts regularly show who she really is, allowing fans a peek into a lifestyle that most can only dream about.

Kardashian does the same thing on her website, and in 2015, she was frank and forthright about her life, especially when it came to her pregnancy fears and concerns. Before her baby was born, Kardashian took to her website to write about her fears and concerns about possible health complications and the changes that come with having a second child. Revealing those fears and concerns made Kim relatable, as her worries really weren’t any different than those of other second-time moms.

And, of course, Kim has been a pro at promoting and selling her mobile apps. Kardashian launched the game Kim Kardashian: Hollywood in 2014, and throughout 2015 she was able to turn the app into a multi-million dollar business empire all on its own. In addition, the KUWTK star launched her own personal app in 2015. Her sisters also launched apps at the same time. Just days ago, Kim launched the Kimoji app which allows fans to have conversations which include caricatures of Kim Kardashian’s butt.

As briefly mentioned, there was also the matter of her pregnancy and the birth of her baby. Kim’s pregnancy style was discussed and dissected thoroughly in 2015, and when her son was born in December, he too became an instant internet sensation — despite the fact that no one has seen a photo of baby Saint West to date. The name of Kim Kardashian’s baby created quite the stir though, and for days, Saint was among the most talked-about people on the internet.

Regardless of whether you love her or hate her, there’s no denying that 35-year-old Kim Kardashian has had a big and busy year — and judging by Google’s reported search data, there’s a good chance you’ve been following right along.
