‘Duck Dynasty’ News: Reed Robertson Gets Engaged To Longtime Girlfriend, Another Duck Wife Joins The Family
It looks like another duck wife is joining the Robertson clan. Reed Robertson, the son of Jase and Missy, just proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Brighton Thompson, on Tuesday in New York City. They were on a family trip with the bride-to-be’s mother, Ashley White, and brother Nolan, along with Missy Robertson, Reed’s sister Mia, and brother Cole.
The young couple was visiting the Big Apple this week with their families when the Duck Dynasty star popped the question on a bridge in Central Park, as reported by Us Weekly. The twosome have been dating for four years, and the Robertson family seems to love the fact that she is joining their famous family. Missy Robertson took to her Twitter to tell everyone that she was really excited about this upcoming marriage.

The Duck Dynasty wife also wrote her appreciation for her son to find such a Godly girl to spend the rest of his life with.
“I’m gonna be a mother-in-law! Thank you, God, for answering this mama’s prayers for a God-fearing wife for Reed.”
Reed Robertson, who is currently a college student at Harding University, expressed his own feelings on his future wife. He sent out an Instagram photo of the moment that he got down on one knee to ask for her hand in marriage right before he put a ring on it.
“I couldn’t be more excited to marry this amazing woman. My fiancé is a babe in every way.”

Speaking of the ring, Us Weekly shared all the details on this sparkling 3.01 carat diamond beauty. It is not just your ordinary store-bought ring. It’s a family heirloom that belongs to the future bride. Both Reed and Brighton took the ring to a jeweler in Nashville and had it designed perfectly just the way they envisioned it to be. However, the future duck wife hadn’t seen it until it was placed on her finger. Brighton sent out her own message about her new fiancé.
“This is my fiancé Reed, he told me he loves me so much he’s giving me his last name. And I said YES!”
While she obviously knew that Reed was going to propose sometime soon, it was a surprise to her that he chose to do it while they were in New York together. According to People, Reed said that she may have been expecting a Christmas proposal.
“I wanted to do it before Christmas because I knew she thought it was happening then, and I wanted to make sure she was surprised. We are so excited to start our lives and our family together as we enjoy this unforgettable period of time.”
This engagement comes just about three weeks before the new season of Duck Dynasty begins on January 13 on A&E. The announcement was made by the network that the duck-calling family will be coming back for Season 9 of their highly popular show.
