Safaree Samuels Talks Reconciling With Nicki Minaj, Says He Doesn’t Know Who Meek Mill Is

Safaree “Stuntman” Samuels may be busy promoting the release of his new mixtape, It Is What It Is Vol. 2, but that isn’t stopping the Jamaican rapper from weighing-in on his past romance with ex-girlfriend Nicki Minaj.

Safaree took to Instagram on Thursday to promote his new interview with Tim Westwood TV, telling fans to anticipate a brand new freestyle rap during his segment on the UK-based channel, while also hinting that he would be responding to “questions of the past.”

“2015 has been a hell of a year…a blessed 1! Wouldn’t change a thing. 2016 is only about the now forward and nothing b4 it!” Safaree began his Instagram post, “I have a new response for anything about the past…I did a new @timwestwoodtv interview and freestyle and when it drops you will hear my now and forever response to questions of the past!”

During his interview with Westwood, Safaree opens up about his new mixtape while also dishing on the rumors surrounding his former relationship with Nicki Minaj and his ongoing beef with Minaj’s current boyfriend, Meek Mill.

When asked what led to the demise of his 12-year relationship with Nicki Minaj, Safaree explains that they merely grew apart over time, while noting that “things change” in relationships.

“Times man … you know, time. I’ve told this story a million and one times but … people grow apart. That’s all there is to it. Things change, people change, surroundings change. You just got to see what makes sense around you and just do what’s best for you,” Safaree Samuels reveals.

In regard to whether or not his breakup from Minaj was “stressful,” Safaree admits, “Yeah, of course cause you know it was on such a large scale in front of millions of people. It was a hell of a situation to deal with publicly … everywhere you go people got something to say, whether its good, bad, show their support and all that.”

Safaree continues, “But I dealt with it pretty well cause I’m in a great headspace now. I’m happy, I got people around me that support what I’m doing and that’s all that matters. Peace of mind.”

As for whether or not Safaree has plans to try and reconcile with Nicki in the future, Samuels explains, “I’m not like a grudgeful type of person … whenever somebody can’t reconcile that means they still got a lot of feelings and that they’re still not over it. I’m over s***.”

Speaking on his attitude towards Nicki Minaj’s relationship with Meek Mill, Safaree simply notes, “I don’t even know who that is. I’ve been out here promoting, all I hear about is Safaree.”

While Safaree has been open to discussing his past relationship with Nicki Minaj given the attention surrounding his impending lawsuit against Nicki for unpaid credits on her past three albums, Samuels admits that he’s done talking about Minaj and Meek Mill in 2016.

“This is it man, put it in a freakin’ coffin, wrap it up, go pay for the coffin and pay to dig the dirt … I’m done with it. Like, how much s*** do you n***** wanna know? I’m not saying or telling s*** else, it is what it is, that’s it. I’m me, ask me s*** about me,” Safaree reveals.

The news comes just weeks after sources close to Safaree Samuels revealed to TMZ that the Jamaican rapper is planning on filing an “imminent” lawsuit against Nicki Minaj for failing to give him writing credits on albums The Pinkprint, Pink Friday, and Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded.

Safaree’s source argues that the rapper is prepared to present a “boatload” of proof of his involvement in the creation of Nicki Minaj’s music, including voice memos, witness testimony, and recordings of their studio sessions together.
