New Netflix Movies And TV In January 2016: ‘Meet The Fockers,’ ‘Parks And Recreation’ Plus More

The wildly popular streaming service Netflix ring in the New Year in January 2016 with a new slate of movies and TV featuring such classic comedies as Meet The Fockers and Season 7 of the hit NBC series Parks and Recreation — as well as the third entry in the ultra-ironic SyFy made-for-TV movie Sharknado trilogy.

But the movies that Netflix will dump once the clock strikes midnight on December 31 may make “out with the old, in with the new” seem considerably less exciting.

The list of popular and acclaimed films getting the boot from Netflix, at least for the time being (films tend to cycle in and out of the Netflix menu with some regularity), is topped by the Stanley Kubrick 1972 futuristic classic A Clockwork Orange — but also includes all five original entries in the Rocky series, so viewers who enjoyed the current release Creed and want to catch up on the complete Rocky story need to start binge-watching now — as well as two Matt Damon-starring Jason Bourne spy-action thrillers, The Bourne Identity and The Bourne Supremacy.

The 2007 Oscar-winning epic There Will Be Blood, with its Best Actor performance by Daniel Day-Lewis, also disappears from Netflix in January.

Joining the Netflix lineup, in addition to the above-mentioned Fockers flick, will be the first film in the Fockers series, Meet The Parents, also starring Robert DeNiro and Ben Stiller.

Sharknado 3 becomes available on Netflix on January 22, and because that is such a long wait for the tongue-in-cheek classic starring Tara Reid, Bo Derek, and all-C-list cast, the following video trailer gives a taste of what the not-very-long-awaited sequel is all about.

Football fans will also want to set aside January 2, because in between Bowl games, the acclaimed ESPN documentary Four Falls of Buffalo makes its Netflix debut, chronicling the incredible story of a Buffalo Bills team that amazingly made it to four Super Bowls in a row — and lost them all.
