Lamar Odom Health Update: Is He Being Transported To Rehab Before Christmas?
Will Lamar Odom be home in time for Christmas? Since October 13, the former professional athlete has been under medical care at a number of hospitals. However, earlier this week, a source claimed he could soon leave the Cedars-Sinai Medical hospital and head to a rehabilitation facility nearby.
“[Lamar Odom] gets better a little bit every day,” a source told Us Weekly. “He took a few steps without the walker. It’s very slow and he’s supposed to go to the rehab any day now.”
In a separate report, via Fox News on December 21, a source said Lamar Odom would be released from the hospital once his doctors were satisfied with his progression, and in recent days, he appears to have made significant progress.

Lamar Odom was hospitalized over two months ago after he allegedly used drugs and took sexual enhancement pills at a legal brothel in Nevada, Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch, where he had been staying overnight for a few days before the incident. At the time, Lamar Odom was said to be in a coma, and for days, he remained unresponsive. Then, after waking up days later, Lamar Odom was transported from the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he has been ever since.
Throughout his health crisis, Lamar Odom has had tons of support from the Kardashian/Jenner family, who have often been seen visiting him at the hospital. As soon as Lamar Odom was hospitalized, Khloe and Kim Kardashian, as well as their mother, Kris Jenner, boarded a private jet and flew to Las Vegas, where he was being treated. Khloe also stayed at Lamar Odom’s side when he was transported to Los Angeles via medical helicopter.
Also at Lamar Odom’s side through his recovery were his children, Destiny and Lamar Odom, Jr., who have done their best to keep in touch with their father, despite living on the east coast with their mother, Liza Morales.
Although Lamar Odom has not been featured on the currently airing 11th season of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, he has been spoken of on multiple occasions by his estranged wife, Khloe, and her sisters and mother. Most recently, in scenes shot before his hospitalization, Khloe and Kim fumed at Jenner for giving Lamar Odom Khloe’s new number without first consulting Khloe. Khloe has also spoken with Kourtney about her plans for divorce.

Lamar Odom is far from a full recovery, but by most accounts, he sounds to be doing much better than he was when he entered the hospital in October. At the time, he was suffering from multiple organ failure, loss of memory and was unable to recognize friends and family, but now, he’s said to be regaining his brain function and the function of his arms and legs.
In one of the most recent reports regarding Lamar Odom’s health, TMZ reported the following.
“Lamar Odom made a huge stride in his recovery this week… taking steps for the first time without assistance. Sources close to Lamar tell us he hadn’t been able to move without a walker. We’re told Thursday Lamar ditched the walker and took three steps, shocking the docs.”
In addition, claimed the source, “[Lamar Odom] has had limited range of motion in his hands, but during a recent visit from Khloe he was able to reach above his head to put his hood on… a BIG step.”
