‘Batman: Arkham Knight’ Wraps Up DLC With ‘Season Of Infamy’ Release

Batman: Arkham Knight wrapped up what has been a mixed year with the final DLC update on Tuesday. The PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC action game had a solid release on the consoles and the exact opposite of solid for the PC. The DLC season wraps up with a bit of a bang though by pitting the Dark Knight against four very different super villains in Season of Infamy, and there are a handful of free offerings, as well.

The Season of Infamy: Most Wanted expansion for Batman: Arkham Knight is now available to download. This is a free update for those that purchased the Season Pass, or $9.99 when purchased separately.

The expansion gives Batman: Arkham Knight owners the opportunity to take on The Mad Hatter, Killer Croc, Ra’s Al Ghul, and Mr. Freeze in four separate missions. The time it takes to complete these missions will depend on the player’s level of skill and choice between exploring or driving straight through. Reports on the Arkham Knight forums thus far indicate each mission will take as little as 15 minutes to complete, and up to an hour. So, that gives an hour to four hours of playtime with the four super criminals.

Warner Bros. Interactive provided the following official description of each Season of Infamy mission below via a press release.

Wonderland: The Mad Hatter makes things personal as the Super-Villain lures Batman into a demented, hallucinatory battle of wits across Gotham City and within the pages of a twisted story book.

Beneath The Surface: The World’s Greatest Detective and Nightwing venture out to investigate Iron Heights, a flying airship prison that housed Killer Croc, after it crashed in the waters surrounding Gotham City.

Shadow War: Picking up after the events of Batman: Arkham City, Batman’s devout moral code is pushed to its limits as Ra’s Al Ghul’s health rebounds with the help of the League of Assassins.

In From The Cold: Mr. Freeze returns to Gotham City, where he is immediately entrapped in Arkham Knight’s Militia and Scarecrow’s plan to destroy Batman. Arkham Knight’s Militia has kidnapped Nora and will return her to Mr. Freeze in exchange for Batman’s capture.

A number of other DLC updates are also available for Batman: Arkham Knight. Some are free and others will cost money. The free add-ons include the Batsuit v8.05 – Prestige Edition for those that reach 240 percent game completion. Those that already own the Harley Quinn Story Pack or Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #5 can get a Classic Harley Quinn Skin at no additional cost. Meanwhile, a similar offer is available for those that own the Red Hood Story Pack. They will receive the Arkham Knight skin for free.

The paid DLC lineup includes the aforementioned Crime Fighter Challenge Pack #5, along with new skins for the Batmobile. There are options to customize a skin from the original Arkham Asylum game, and a Rocksteady-themed skin.

Those that feel like putting the Caped Crusader in the Christmas spirit can get the Batman: Noel Skin. Fans of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight look will also have a skin option in Batman: Arkham Knight.

For those that haven’t purchased the Season Pass yet, Microsoft is currently running an Xbox Store Countdown sale that discounts the Season Pass to $25.99 for Xbox LIVE Gold members or $29.99 for non-members. That’s a decent discount over the normal $40 price.

Expect similar discounts for the PlayStation 4 and PC versions of the game when the Steam Winter sale kicks off later today, and Sony kicks off another sale on the PlayStation store.
