Chelsea Clinton Announces She’s Pregnant With Baby No. 2
Surprise! Chelsea Clinton, the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and current presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton, is expecting her second child. Clinton, who announced the exciting news earlier today, decided to take to Twitter to let everyone know that she was expecting a second child with her husband of five years.

Her daughter, Charlotte, is 15-months-old. Back in April, Chelsea opened up about what it’s like being a mother to Elle magazine.
“Marc and I are like, ‘What did we do before we were parents?’ My whole life is reoriented around my daughter in the most blessed sense. I now understand — all of the enthusiastic, bombastically spectacular, wonderful things people say about their children, because we also feel and think all those things about Charlotte—that she is just the most remarkable little bubbly, perfect, chunky monkey creature ever.”
Although this announcement comes right after the last Democratic debate of the year, it isn’t exactly a huge surprise because Chelsea did open up recently about wanting another baby. She told People magazine, “I think my love for Charlotte has just opened more space in my heart and my brain that I didn’t even know was there.”
People are already extending their congratulations to Chelsea on Twitter.

When rumors were swirling that her mother Hillary Clinton might run for president for a second time, many were wary, citing that she would be too content being a grandmother to want to run for president again. That said, Hillary wasn’t deterred. Even so, it seems like she’s enjoying being a grandmother to little Charlotte, so she’s probably thrilled about the new addition to the family.
Earlier in the year, Chelsea shared what her mother is like as a grandmother.
“It’s really sweet how my mom is just so clearly happy being a grandma and I know she’s going to be a great grandma, whatever other choices she makes in her life.”
As for Hillary, she said she was taking a page out of her mother’s book. She went on to refer to her as challenging and emotionally supportive.

Prior to being a mother, Chelsea Clinton was a special correspondent for NBC. After enjoying three years at the network, Clinton announced that she was stepping down from the position with the impending birth of her first child. At the time she announced that in addition to her new role as mommy, she would be focusing a good deal on her foundation, The Clinton Foundation.
While she was at NBC Chelsea reported on “feel good” stories for the “Making a Difference” series on the network.
In her announcement she wrote, “I am profoundly grateful to NBC viewers who responded to the stories I shared, providing funds to help expand the reach of those programs and who encouraged their schools’ principals, their mayors and local activists to think about how to build similarly transformative programs in their own communities.”
So far, we don’t know if Chelsea is expecting a boy or a girl.
