WWE News: Jeff Hardy Wants To End His Wrestling Career With WWE

Through all of the former WWE champions that may come back to the company, there are two that have realistic chances to return. Kurt Angle is the first one. After is contract with TNA Impact Wrestling concludes, Angle said he doesn’t want to return to wrestling immediately. He said he wants to focus on his acting career. When that ends, don’t be surprised to see Kurt Angle back in a WWE ring. As far as CM Punk goes, his inevitable WWE return is still up in the air. He’s supposed to make his UFC debut in the Spring.

After those two former-WWE champions, one man’s status is still outstanding. Jeff Hardy, former-World Heavyweight champion, has been linked to a WWE return for the last year. Even though he’s in Impact Wrestling, his contract is going to end and it doesn’t look like he’ll renew his contract. Dixie Carter’s promotion isn’t doing well, despite their new TV contract with POP TV.

Hardy’s return to the WWE would drastically help an already-improving tag-team division. The New Day, Lucha Dragons, and Usos are keeping the tag-team division on top and with new teams in WWE NXT, it’s only going to get better. Of course, the Dudley Boyz back in the WWE helps the chances of bringing back Matt and Jeff Hardy sooner, rather than later.

Ric Flair was able to chat with Jeff Hardy last week and he was able to clear up any rumors about going back to the WWE. On Flair’s “Woo Nation!” podcast, Jeff Hardy revealed his interest in going back to the WWE before his career is over.

“I think there’s a huge possibility down the road. I’m not sure when, but I think both Matt and myself would love to end our careers in the WWE and it’d be super, double great to be able to have a few more good ones with the Dudley Boyz, for sure.”

Hardy added, “as far as us returning to WWE and having some more matches with them, it all depends on how long they’re going to be there and how long it takes us to get there. I mean, but, definitely, it’s a possibility. I’m just not sure when right now.”

While that sounds like good news for WWE fans, Jeff Hardy was also bit by the injury bug. Much like an unfortunate portion of the WWE roster, Hardy found out that he may miss a lot of time in 2016.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter and Wrestling Inc, the Charismatic Enigma is expected to miss most of 2016 with an injury.

“Jeff Hardy reportedly needs another knee surgery and he could be out of the ring until late 2016. The timetable for his return won’t be certain until after he has the surgery.”

“Jeff has told friends of his that he will have to tone his style down and won’t be able to wrestle the same style that he’s worked in the past.”

“As noted, Jeff’s TNA deal as well as Matt Hardy’s deal expire in 10-12 weeks.”

The key part about all of this is the fact that their contracts end in several weeks. If they don’t renew their deals with TNA, expect both men to come to the WWE in 2016. It would be a great way to cap off their excellent career and a WWE Hall of Fame induction would be the proverbial icing on the cake. Jeff Hardy and Matt Hardy could even put over a young tag-team in WWE NXT, which would only make the future better.
