Iggy Azalea’s New Hair Style Looks Less Like ‘Iggy Iggs’ And More Like Gwen Stefani And Nicki Minaj

Iggy Azalea just revealed her latest hair-do, which happens to be shoulder length and hot pink. The new look is quite reminiscent of many pop stars that came before her, and has inspired questions about whether Iggy Azalea is continuing to bite the style of these artists or she is simply following the latest hair trend.

The Iggy Azalea that was first introduced to the world was for the most part, a tall, blonde school girl. During her time under the spotlight however, there have been many other looks that completely differ from her initial appearance. Style-wise, Iggy Azalea has gone from preppy, to sexy, to urban, and back again. When asked about her style evolution, Iggy Azalea made a statement to Seventeen magazine about the importance of change and self image.

“I don’t think you should be ashamed if you made a change to yourself. I think it’s important to wait and make sure it’s the right choice. Plastic surgery is an emotional journey. It’s no easy feat to live with your flaws and accept yourself — and it’s no easy feat to change yourself. Either way you look at it, it’s a tough journey. It’s important to remember you can’t change everything. You can never be perfect.”

Iggy made it clear that she’s not striving for perfection by coloring and cutting her hair, but is she striving for something else? One recent photo of her latest look, which the rapper posted on Instagram, looks very similar to Gwen Stefani’s 1999 look when she was a member of No Doubt. Azalea managed to master the pink hair and topped it off with the same red colored lips.

Iggy Azalea’s previous look, which in a way hinted what was coming next, was shoulder length, blonde hair with pink tips. Though this look hasn’t been seen in hip hop for some time, folks couldn’t help but notice her resemblance to Nicki Minaj in 2010. It was an odd choice for Iggy Azalea, given that Minaj is known to have thrown major shade at Iggy for reportedly not writing her own rap lyrics. But Iggy has been known to channel her idols, and Gwen Stefani and Nicki Minaj are only the beginning.

This year, Iggy Azalea has been accused of copying the styles of both Jennifer Lopez and Demi Lovato. It’s not at all a coincidence considering that the “Fancy” rapper has recently performed with both of the pop stars. So, when it’s a sexy salsa look, Iggy Azalea credits J-Lo and when it’s an innocent looking side ponytail, the thanks goes to Demi Lovato. Recently, Iggy Azalea spoke in praise and appreciation for both of them.

“I think probably the biggest person that I’ve taken anything away from that I’ve collaborated with is Jennifer. She’s just so dedicated and professional and she puts so much time into rehearsing and making sure that every element of anything that she does is perfect.”

Though Iggy admittedly channels her professional drive from J-Lo, her ability to love herself in spite of the constant attacks from the world about her appearance is inspired by Demi Lovato’s unbreakable spirit.

“I think Demi is somebody that’s come a really long way in her personal journey, body image and musically. It’s been really awesome watching somebody come into their own skin.”

Iggy Azalea has altered herself quite a lot during her time in the public eye. It’s no secret that she opted in for bigger boobs and even had a little work done on her face. With people constantly asserting the Iggy Azalea steals styles of others in both fashion and music, her positive self image is definitely a necessity. What do you think, is Iggy Azalea real?
