Caught On Camera: Man Sexually Assaults 4-Year-Old Girl, Blames Victim For Seducing Him

In a bizarre turn of events, a man who was caught on camera sexually abusing a four-year-old girl has blamed the little girl of ‘seducing’ him. The incident happened in the Indian city of Hyderabad earlier this month. The perpetrator of the heinous crime was identified as Mohammad Akram Khan who has now been arrested and is in police custody.

According to The Week, Mohammad Akram Khan was arrested by the Hyderabad Police on Thursday after a complaint was registered against him by his own wife. Akram’s wife was living away from him because she suspected Akram of having an extra-marital affair. However, before she went away, the lady had installed a surveillance camera inside Akram’s home to track his activities. Akram’s crime against the 4-year-old girl came to light after a technician who was taking a backup of the video footage saw Khan sexually abusing the girl. The technician immediately informed Akram’s estranged wife about the incident who then reported the same to the local police station. The video footage is also now in the custody of police officials. The case has been taken up by officials from the Shah Ali Banda Police Station located in the old city area of Hyderabad city.

After his arrest and subsequent interrogation, Mohammad Akram Khan told police officials that he had “made a mistake” – but went on to add that it wasn’t his fault alone and even blamed the four year girl of trying to seduce him.

The CNN-IBN report embedded below has the details of the crime.

He also later confessed to have lured the girl into his home with chocolates and sweets where he also admitted to have submitted her to unnatural sexual abuse. He is already seeking pardon for his acts.

Meanwhile, police officials have booked Mohammad Akram khan under several sections of the Indian Penal Code. The sections applied include 366 IPC, 419 IPC, 534 (A)(1) (i) of Nirbhaya Act and Section 5 R/w 6 of Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act.

The Nirbhaya Act was postulated after the brutal 2012 Delhi Rape Case which had led to mass protests across India. The news of this latest case involving sexual abuse from India also comes on the same day an accused from the 2012 Delhi Rape case is being released from jail after completing his three year term. The accused, who was a minor at the time of the incident was not given the death penalty because under Indian law, anyone under the age of 18 cannot be tried as an adult.

The release of the accused has come under heavy criticism from several groups which say that the releasing of such criminals would only encourage others to commit such crimes and be sure of being released from jail after a few years later.

The 2012 Delhi Rape case involved a 23 year old girl from Delhi who was raped aboard a moving bus in the bustling city of Delhi. She had gone to watch a movie with her male friend and was on her way back home when they boarded a private bus. The people on board the bus assaulted the boy, hit him with a metal rod and then went on to gang rape the girl – even as the bus traveled around the city. The men also inserted an iron rod into the girl’s genitals and caused her grievous internal injury. The girl and her companion were then thrown on to the road, naked, as the bus sped away. A passerby spotted the duo and informed the police who took both of them to a nearby hospital. After the Indian government intervened, the injured girl was flown to Singapore for treatment where she died a few days later.
