Drake’s ‘Views From The 6’ Gets Another Preview On Twitter, Fans Weigh In On Teaser Track

Drake may be keeping mum regarding an official release date for his highly anticipated Views From The 6 album, but that isn’t stopping Drake from previewing several teaser videos for fans in honor of the album’s imminent release.

Just weeks after Drake previewed a six-second teaser of his new album on Vine, DJ Akademiks took to Twitter on Friday to share a brief clip of some new music that will reportedly be featured on Drake’s Views From The 6.

In his post, DJ Akademiks asks followers, “This is a Snippet from Drake – Views From The 6 project..How is it sounding [fire emoji] or [smiling poop emoji]??” before sharing a nine-second video preview of one of Drake’s new songs.

Fans were quick to weigh-in on the sound of the new preview, with the majority of fans arguing that the teaser sounds very similar to Drake’s previous songs.

One fan writes, “and ppl say drake music don’t sound the same lol,” while another adds, “just another song for the girls, nothing new..”

While some fans expressed their excitement over the imminent release of Drake’s Views From The 6 album after listening to the clip, other fans pointed out that it’s difficult to critique Drake’s new music from such a brief preview.

In response to fans’ comments regarding the brevity of the clip, DJ Akademiks posted another tweet explaining, “Its hard to judge ‘singing’ snippets. Barely can catch the melody or flow. Do wanna hear some Bars from Drizzy tho 2 see how Views shapin up.”

News of another preview of Drake’s Views From The 6 comes just one month after Drake shared his own teaser clip of his fourth studio album on Vine, Billboard reports.

In the six-second clip, which has received nearly 2 million loops since November, Drake can be seen filming while pointing the camera towards the floor while the lyrics, “I should be downtown, whipping on the way to you” can be heard playing in the background.

While Drake has yet to offer a tentative release date for his new album, rumors have begun to suggest that Views From The 6 may arrive in January after a mysterious teaser for the album appeared on Daily Raps’ Twitter account last month.

The clip, which features imagery from Drake’s OVO Sound record label, warns fans that “The 6 [God] is watching” and “Hope you’re prepared to face him” before teasing a release date of January 6, 2016 to conclude the video.

While it’s unclear whether or not the video came from Drake’s team or if it’s a fan-created teaser trailer, Radio points out that Drake seemingly hinted at a January release date in his “30 for 30 Freestyle” collaboration with Future in which he raps, “I guess you just making moves on your own time / But just know it’ll be January in no time.”

Earlier this year, Drake diminished fans’ hopes of a 2015 release for Views after telling concertgoers during the Austin City Limits Music Festival in October that he was taking the rest of the year to complete the album.

Similarly, Drake opened up about his progress on Views From The 6 in a cover story interview with The Fader earlier this year while simultaneously working to promote the release of his other two mixtapes, If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late and his collaborative mixtape with Future titled What A Time To Be Alive.

While Drake neglected to offer any news regarding a potential release date for Views during his interview, Drake did tell the publication that he would be putting out his fourth studio album “imminently.”
