KFC Streetwise Cheese Top Burger Looks Like A Mistake

This is how they eat burgers on the street, I guess. KFC has outdone its infamous double down burger with what is quite possibly the most idiotic fast food item ever invented. (And recently, we’ve seen pizza crusts stuffed with hot dogs and tacos made from Doritos.) The Streetwise Cheese Top Burger is, well, exactly what it sounds like.

It’s a cheese burger, but instead of placing the cheese underneath the bun and above the patty like burger-ologists have done for centuries, KFC has put the cheese on top of the bun.

The burger is only available in the Philippines at the moment.

KFC writes on its Facebook page:

“The first and only cheese topped bun burger with KFC’s signature Original Recipe chicken patty with rich Garlic Parmesan dressing. Satisfy your craving with KFC’s new Cheese Top Burger!”

Is KFC serious? I know KFC doesn’t have the most burger making experience but you’d think that a big fast food chain would know how to construct a burger.

Did a fast food worker accidentally put cheese on top of a bun, but instead of admitting his mistake, told his manager that “it’s how people on the street eat their burgers,” and the manager believed him, and sent an urgent memo to the KFC headquarters, who decided that they needed a new fast food item but didn’t want to actually do any market research or buy any new ingredients?

Seriously, that’s the only way that this could have happened.

What do you think of the Cheese Top Burger?
