Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton are probably looking forward to spending the holidays together, but a few paparazzi Grinches possibly spoiled one of Gwen's Christmas surprises for her cowboy. She was recently spotted shopping at a Western wear store, and what Gwen was buying was a sure sign that things are getting extremely serious between the Orange County girl and the country boy. Judging from recent photos, Gwen Stefani already knows Blake Shelton so well that she's picking out clothes for him.
According to the Huffington Post, some fans of The Voice thought that what 39-year-old Blake Shelton and 46-year-old Gwen Stefani had going on was a fleeting showmance that would dissolve as soon as the latest season of the NBC reality series was over. However, The Voice finale has come and gone, and the "Hollaback Girl" songstress and the "Hillbilly Bone" crooner are still a couple.
On Thursday, Gwen Stefani was spotted buying some shirts that are most likely Christmas gifts for her new boyfriend. The "Used to Love You" singer looked a bit out of her element browsing the racks at the Country General Store in Los Angeles, but she didn't let her own funky fashion sense influence her Christmas shopping for Blake. In photos published by the Daily Mail, a Country General Store employee can be seen holding Gwen Stefani's selections, and they definitely suit Blake. Gwen decided to keep her country boy in his comfort zone by picking out five plaid cowboy shirts that Blake would probably pick out himself, and it's pretty amazing that she already knows him so well.
Unfortunately for Gwen Stefani, the paparazzi sort of ruined her Christmas surprise for Blake Shelton by photographing the shirts that she purchased. Perhaps now she'll rethink her gift and keep the men's shirts for herself – Gwen could do a grunge-country thing by wearing one of them unbuttoned over a tight baby tee. Now that she's dating a cowboy, it'll only be a matter of time before the style icon brings the cowgirl look back by putting her own unique spin on Western wear.
Gwen Stefani might want to give herself a bit of a country girl makeover if what Hollywood Life is saying is true. According to an insider close to the music industry's hottest new couple, Blake Shelton wants Gwen Stefani and her three boys to spend Christmas with him at his ranch in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. Blake allegedly wants to teach Stefani's older sons, Kingston and Zuma, how to be cowboys.
"Blake could teach them lots of other stuff that city folk don't know," the insider said.
A trip to Oklahoma would certainly be a culture shock for Gwen Stefani's sons, who are used to hitting the slopes during the holidays. According to the Daily Mail, they spent the last two Christmases at a ski resort in Mammoth, California. Of course, the boys' father and Gwen's soon-to-be ex-husband, Gavin Rossdale, was also there, and Radar Online claims that he's fighting with his ex over Christmas custody of the boys because he wants to take them back to Mammoth this year.
Interestingly, something Gwen Stefani said around this time last year could be a sign that she and Blake Shelton are meant to be, while she and Gavin Rossdale were doomed to fail. When Gavin joined his wife on The Voice as a mentor last year, Gwen freaked out just a bit about working with her spouse.
"I went back and forth about having Gavin on [the show] because we have only collaborated on babies before. I was really overwhelmed that Gavin was actually going to be on [the show] with me, and we got in a little fight about it the night before because I was like, 'I don't know if I can handle this. It's just too much.''
Obviously, Gwen Stefani didn't have any problem working with her new beau on the reality show, and Blake Shelton had such a blast spending time with his new ladylove on the set of The Voice that he pressured producer Carson Daly to find some role for Gwen to play on the show next season. During a recent press conference, Blake asked Carson if Gwen could return next year, and Carson said that the show's coaches are always welcome back.
"All right, see you next season, Gwen!" Blake Shelton jokingly responded, according to Us Weekly.
It's not hard to see why Blake Shelton wants to keep Gwen Stefani around – they partook in plenty of hanky-panky while getting paid to coach The Voice contestants. According to reports, they were spotted kissing, laughing, and holding hands on set.
Now that they can no longer flirt at work, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton will have to settle for stealing moments together in Gwen's automobiles. She loves riding around in cars with her cowboy so much that Us Weekly recently dubbed her Blake Shelton's chauffeur, but it's pretty adorable that Gwen and her new boyfriend act like teens in love whenever they're in an automobile together.
Gwen Stefani has sang about wanting a "simple kind of life," so perhaps she'll feel right at home if she heads to Oklahoma with Blake Shelton this Christmas. Do you think the cute couple will last?
