Will Ferrell Appears As ‘Bro Santa’ On ‘The Tonight Show’ [Video]

Say goodbye to the old man with the bag and hello to the new “Bro Santa,” with a little help from Will Ferrell.

Ferrell introduced his upgraded Santa Claus to the world during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on December 16, where Ferrell ditched the infamous Christmas figure’s traditional red ensemble and white beard for a tank top, a blonde wig, and a green camouflage sack.

“The Kris Kringle we all grew up with is old and lame. Dude looks like someone’s weird grandpa,” Will explained on the late night talk show of the inspiration behind his decision to give Father Christmas an upgrade. “Kids today are demanding a newer, hipper, more bad*** Santa Claus, so, you’re welcome,” Ferrell said.

But just because Will Ferrell’s new look Santa is a little less wholesome than the bearded saint we’re used to seeing this time of year, Will’s reincarnation didn’t skimp on the presents during his hilarious talk show appearance.

After unveiling the new look on the NBC show, Ferrell took the time to fire up his T-Shirt gun to shoot out some white T-Shirts with his own face on them, which resulted in a pretty disastrous launch from Will. “I’m making it snow up in this B!” Ferrell joked.

Will also revealed on the popular late night show that the new and improved Kris Kringle won’t be travelling around the world with a sleigh and reindeer this Christmas Eve. Ferrell instead joked to host Jimmy Fallon that this festive season we can actually expect to see Christmas drones flying over the houses of the world to drop off presents.

Confessing that it’s “the year of the drone,” Will’s character explained that anyone hoping to find a present from the big guy this year can expect to have their goodies delivered by a drone while Santa (A.K.A Will) kicks back and sips on “cool, delicious margies” in Cabo San Lucas.

“You just tell Santa what you want, I punch in some numbers on the computer,” Ferrell said, “check to make sure you’re in the drone zone, and you get the special D from Mr C – case Claused,” Will’s newest character revealed on his delivery plans.

But whilst Will Ferrell was rocking an unusual festive new look during his latest talk show appearance, Will, of course, is no stranger to dressing up for the Holiday season after appearing as Buddy the Elf in the 2003 Christmas classic, Elf.

Ferrell also dove into the dressing up box earlier this month when he made a surprise guest appearance on Saturday Night Live on December 12. Will reprised his infamous SNL role when he played former President George W. Bush during the long running comedy show’s opening sketch over the weekend, where he took the opportunity to take more than a few jabs at the Republican party and 2016 GOP candidates.

“I’ve made a big decision. I’m entering the race for the president of the United States of America,” Ferrell, who was dressed as former President Bush, joked in the sketch show’s opening segment. “The field of Republicans out there is so messed up, I figured it makes you miss me, doesn’t it? And that’s saying a lot,” Will then joked, announcing the former President’s new run for the Oval Office.

Ferrell also took serious aim at 2016 Presidential hopeful Donald Trump during his big SNL return, who an in character Will described as being a “knucklehead” and even a “big fat orange Oompa Loompa.”
