Kanye West On Why They Chose The Name ‘Saint’: Claims People Are Either Ants Or Crabs
Kanye West recently welcomed his first son into the world, and People reports he had a hard time coming up with a suitable name for the baby. A friend of Kanye West and his wife, Kim Kardashian, said they took a while to choose the name.
“[He] was going back and forth for a while. It needed to mean something and he agonized over it, probably even more than Kim.”
The friend also divulged that Kanye West considers names to be very important.
“Kanye believes that a name is extremely important and that it’s the first sense of identity that we have. He believes that people live up to their names, which is why he wanted a name with spiritual significance.”
The name Kanye West and his wife chose for the new little boy was Saint. Us Weekly reports that West was all smiles after welcoming his son, Saint West, into the world on December 5. They also have a daughter, North West, who was born in June, 2013.

E! News reports that Kanye West’s daughter, North, was purposefully not given a middle name and their son, Saint, won’t have one either. There were rumors circulating that they would use the name Robert as a middle name, in honor of Kardashian’s father, but this was not to be. Kanye’s beautiful wife revealed to E! News that they spoke with North about her baby brother all the time.
“We talk about baby brother all the time. She’s so sweet and yesterday she said, ‘Mommy, can I give baby brother a kiss on your tummy?’ and she kissed my stomach. She’s super sweet. She has a hard time when I hold other babies but she’s been getting a little bit better and I’m hoping that with her brother it’s a whole new experience.”
Kayne West certainly wasn’t idle while waiting for the birth of his son. Time reports that back in March, he delivered a lecture to the Oxford Guild Society, and that lecture was posted on YouTube.
In his lecture, West talked about many things, including humanity.
“This humanity that I talk about, this civilization that I talk about, this future utopia idea that I talk about — it can only happen through collaboration.”
Newsweek reports that during Kanye West’s lecture, he also said people have a choice of being ants or crabs.
“People ask me how my daughter is doing, she’s only doing good if your daughter is doing good. We’re all one family, last names aside, we’re all one family. And we have the ability to approach our race like ants, or we have the ability to approach our race like crabs.”

One of Kanye West’s biggest concerns about millennials is that even though they are less racist than previous generations, they are still taught to separate people into classes.
“You guys are being taught… ways of separating yourselves from each other. If you’re separated, you can easily be controlled. If you’re too busy pointing fingers at each other, instead of holding hands, you can’t get anything done.”
People revealed that Kanye West has also been working on a new album and over the Thanksgiving holidays, he played it for Lamar Odom. According to Kim Kardashian, Odom loved it.

“We did visit Lamar today, and we played him his new album. When it was done, I said, ‘Did you like the music?’ and he said, ‘Loved it!’ “
Fans are certainly looking forward to the new album, SWISH, and they are looking forward to more photos of the new baby Saint and big sister North.
