NFL Picks Week 15: New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, And Philadelphia Eagles Picked As Upset Winners
NFL Picks for Week 15 of the season from the experts at CBS Sports are in, and a few of them are picking teams in the NFC East to win in upset fashion against superior opponents. While the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, and Philadelphia Eagles have all been disappointments this season, the division is still up for grabs, and each team understands the importance of their remaining three games. In their Week 15 NFL picks for CBS Sports, eight top NFL minds including Pete Prisco and Jason La Canfora picked each game against the spread and straight up. If they are correct in their selections, a huge shift could take place in the playoff pictures in each conference.
With an undefeated record of 13-0, the Carolina Panthers, led by quarterback Cam Newton, have been unstoppable this year. Elite quarterback play combined with a top defense has attributed to their success, and many people around the league believe they will go 16-0 in the regular season. They will travel to the Meadowlands this Sunday to take on the 6-7 New York Giants, a team that has looked great at times, while looking awful at other times. Even though the Giants will be the home team, all signs on the surface point to the Panthers cruising to another victory. According to Vegas Insider, the Panthers are as much as a six-point favorite against the Giants, which means they should win the game handily.

Experts Pete Prisco and Jamey Eisenberg are not exactly confident in the Panthers beating the Giants though. Not only do they feel as though the New York Giants will cover the six-point spread, but they also believe they will win the game straight up. While the remaining six analysts believe the Carolina Panthers will be victorious, there appears to be something to Prisco and Eisenberg’s picks. The New York Daily News outlined a “five-part blueprint” for the Giants to win the game, and the real key is Giants quarterback Eli Manning. After throwing for four touchdowns and only four incompletions in the Giants’ victory against the Miami Dolphins on Monday night, Eli Manning is locked in. For a quarterback that won two Super Bowls against more talented New England Patriots teams, Eli Manning is more than capable of leading the New York Giants to a win over the undefeated Carolina Panthers.
The Week 15 NFL picks also have a few experts selecting the injured 4-9 Dallas Cowboys to defeat the 8-5 New York Jets. While the Jets are not exactly blowing teams out, they are playing strong defense, and journeyman quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick has been as solid as they come for a team that has searched for a reliable quarterback for years. Predicted in the beginning of the season as a possible Super Bowl contender, the Dallas Cowboys have been nothing but a disappointment. Losing DeMarco Murray in free agency in the offseason and injuries to quarterback Tony Romo and wide receiver Dez Bryant have severely stalled their once-prolific offense, and the team as a whole has struggled.
While Vegas Insider has the visiting Jets as three and a half point favorites against the home Dallas Cowboys, two out of the seven (one of the experts did not pick this game) experts believe the Cowboys will win this game. Pete Prisco and Ryan Wilson not only have the Cowboys covering the three and a half point spread, but they also believe the Cowboys will win straight up. While their 4-9 record is among the worst in the league, the Dallas Cowboys somehow still have a chance to make the playoffs. ESPN’s Skip Bayless also believes the Cowboys will pull off the upset against the Jets, as seen on a tweet yesterday.

The NFL Week 15 picks show most of the experts favoring the visiting Arizona Cardinals over the home Philadelphia Eagles, but one of them thinks an upset could be brewing. With a record of 6-7, the Eagles are yet another disappointment in the NFC East. While the record is extremely mediocre, they are somehow still tied for first place in the NFL’s worst division, along with the New York Giants and Washington Redskins. Vegas Insider currently has the 11-2 Cardinals as up to four point favorites, but CBS Sports expert Will Brinson believes the Philadelphia Eagles will win the game straight up.
Other Week 15 NFL picks heavily favor the Minnesota Vikings, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, and Seattle Seahawks. While all of the above upsets are unlikely to happen, the New York Giants over the Carolina Panthers seems to be the most popular one for this week.
