Set Photos Show Ashton Kutcher Playing Steve Jobs On Acid

In his younger years, Steve Jobs was known to experiment with hallucinatory drugs like LSD, and the new biopic starring Ashton Kutcher will apparently delve into those “LSD years.”

A few photos from the set showed up online today showing Ashton Kutcher “tripping” in a field. Kutcher appeared to have no problem channeling Jobs, or the effects of acid, during the scene.

The Daily Mail reports that in 1988 Jobs admitted in a government security clearance questionnaire that he had taken LSD up to 15 times in the early 70s.

Jobs said:

“It was a positive life changing experience for me and I am glad I went through that experience. I would ingest the LSD on a sugar cube or in a hard form of gelatin… I would usually take the LSD when I was by myself.”

Jobs also said that he occasionally smoked marijuana and hashish, saying that the drugs helped his creativity.

Jobs said:

“The best way I would describe the effect of the marijuana and the hashish is that it would make me relaxed and creative.”

The Steve Jobs biopic, titled Jobs, will follow the iconic businessman from his college days until he becomes the CEO of Apple.

IMDB writes:

“The story of Steve Jobs’ ascension from college dropout into one of the most revered creative entrepreneurs of the 20th century.”

Do you think Ashton Kutcher was the right choice to play Steve Jobs?

Producer Mark Hulme said:

“‘Since our film covers the early years of Apple, when Jobs was in his 20s, we needed an actor who could carry not only the youthfulness of Jobs at the time but also the psychological complexity. Because of that, and Ashton’s physical similarities to Jobs, he’s perfect for our film.”
