First Look At Michael Fassbender On The Set Of ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Movie, Plus ‘Assassin’s Creed Chronicles’ India And Russia Release Dates

It’s been months since we saw the first look of Michael Fassbender in costume for the Assassin’s Creed movie, and now, the first pictures of Fassbender on set have been leaked online.

According to The Bit Bag, the photos of Fassbender were taken during filming of Assassin’s Creed in an undisclosed location in Spain. Fassbender is seen donning an assassin’s attire, most likely shooting scenes while portraying one of the characters he plays — Aguilar — who is the 15th century ancestor of Callum Lynch, another character that Fassbender plays in the film.

The pictures appeared on the Frech Facebook page Skript.fr.

As reported previously, the Assassin’s Creed movie has an original storyline and does not follow the characters in any of the Assassin’s Creed games. However, there is a chance that some characters from the game may appear in the movie.

Assassin’s Creed also stars Brendan Gleeson, who is said to play the father of Callum Lynch. In addition, Marion Cotillard, Fassbender’s Macbeth co-star, will also be appearing in the Assassin’s Creed movie. However, the actress is not divulging any details regarding the role that she will be playing. But based on a Tweet, it is not impossible for Fassbender’s character to have a love interest in the movie. User @YourEzio asked whether Callum Lynch will have a love story or not. Azaizia Aymar, the head of content for Assassin’s Creed, answered the question.

Could the lucky lade be Cotillard’s character? As reported by Gamespot, Michael Fassbender’s role in Assassin’s Creed will go beyond acting. As Jean-Julien Baronnet, CEO of Ubisoft Motion Pictures, said, Fassbender is very much involved in the project, including having a say when it comes to creative choices.

“We told him we were going to build this project together. We have a huge brand and we want to make a film with references to feature films like Batman Begins and Blade Runner. He was promised that he could work with the writers, we would associate it with all key creative choices.”

As of writing, no other details about the movie have been revealed. According to reports, the Assassin’s Creed movie will be released in theaters on December 21, 2016. Other games that are reportedly being translated into movies include Splinter Cell, Watch Dogs, Rabbids, Ghost Recond, and Far Cry.

In other Assassin’s Creed news, the two remaining games in the Assassin’s Creed: Chronicles series will be released in the first quarter of next year. Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: China was released in April of this year, and fans of the game have been waiting for the other two games in the series, India and Russia, to be released. According to Eurogamer, Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: India will be available to players on January 12, 2016, while Assassin’s Creed Chronicles: Russia will be released on February 9, 2016.
