Jennifer Lawrence And Amy Schumer’s Friendship May Be Over

Jennifer Lawrence and Amy Schumer have been adorable besties this year, gushing over one another ever since Lawrence saw Schumer’s film Train Wreck and immediately got in touch with her…but according to Schumer, their friendship may take a sudden turn once they officially face off in the same category at the Golden Globes.

“As soon as I saw that we were both nominated, I took her right out of my phone because our friendship is obviously over. It’s really every woman for herself at this point, and I don’t want her to kind of get in my head, you know?” Schumer said when the nominees were announced.

Of course, Amy was just doing what she does best; obviously, these two women feel they were made for each other in the best friend department and no awards ceremony will derail it. The pair are already working on a script together, in which Lawrence will reportedly play a hot mess, and have bonded in their love of comedy.

“We don’t need each other in terms of work, but it does feel like we need each other in terms of our friendship,” Schumer said on a recent podcast.

For Jennifer Lawrence, the desire to work with Schumer was immediate once she saw her latest film, and the actress says the writing flowed easily once they got started. After her viewing of the movie she sat down and wrote Amy a note expressing her admiration for the comedian, and the rest is bestie history.

“I emailed her after I saw Trainwreck and said, ‘I don’t know where to get started. I guess I should just say it: I’m in love with you.’ We started emailing, and then emailing turned to texting,” Jennifer said. “Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavors. It’s been the most fun experience of my life. We start the day off on the phone, laughing. And then we send each other pages. And we crack up.”

The pair have bonded so completely that they’re even considering wearing the same dress to the Golden Globes. In fact, Jennifer Lawrence says she’s going to see if they can get Dior to make the exact gown twice, just for them.

“We’re going to try to figure out to wear the exact same thing. That’s my mission. I really want us to wear the same thing. She’s going to have to wear Dior. I’m just going to have to have Dior make two of whatever they’re making for me,” Jennifer told E! News.

Amy Schumer made headlines earlier this month when she posed nearly nude for famed photographer Annie Liebovitz. The comedian shared a photo from the shoot on Instagram, earning nearly 500,000 likes and hundreds of comments. Schumer has been very open about her own body image recently and dismisses those who pass judgement on her appearance, which has garnered praise from women all over the Web.

Jennifer Lawrence is now promoting her film Joy, based on a true story and helmed by David O. Russell. Russell recently praised Jennifer’s ability to move from action-hero Katniss Everdeen to an everyday sort of hero.

“It’s remarkable that you have someone as exciting as Jennifer, who then can get the studio and audiences excited to want to see what seems like an ordinary story. Like any of my movies, it starts with ordinary people and becomes something else,” Russell said.
