Taylor Swift Songs Available On Spotify

Taylor Swift has been having fun Down Under; well, between shows. People reports that Swift met up with new squad member, Blake Lively, for a day off to have fun at Warner Bros. Movie World theme park in Queensland. There is a fabulous photo of the two ladies jumping in the middle of a park street.

Then there’s the kangaroo selfie, which Taylor Swift discovered is a thing.

“I didn’t know ‘kangaroo selfies’ were a thing. But they are and this is one.”

Welcome to the squad, cute kangaroo!

In other news, Taylor Swift is going to be welcomed to the Grammy Awards, yet again. The nominations have been announced and The Guardian reports that the much-loved musician is one of the leaders in terms of nominations, along with Kendrick Lamar and The Weeknd.

Taylor Swift has been nominated in the following categories: Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Music Video (for “Bad Blood,” of course), Song of the Year, Best Pop Solo Performance, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance. That is a lot of nominations, but she has a lot of stiff competition.

She has also brought Christmas early to her fans in Brisbane this past weekend. The Courier Mail reports she opened her show with “Welcome to New York” and the crowd was immediately whipped into a frenzy that only Taylor Swift can inspire.

While she was belting it out this past weekend, there was a reappearance of Taylor Swift music on Spotify. However, The Guardian reports that the music was not licensed to be available on Spotify.

Taylor Swift does not stream her music; yet, her song, “I Knew You Were Trouble,” from her album Red was on Spotify for three days, beginning on December 4. Fans picked up on the oddity right away, particularly because the song had appeared on the Lost Prophets artist page as a new release.

There was no acknowledgement from Taylor Swift in connection with the song anywhere on Lost Prophet’s page. The incident also caused the song to reappear on Taylor Swift’s Spotify page, where she has only posted film soundtrack songs and other compilations.

A spokesperson from Spotify said they take licensing very seriously and the “very weird” situation has been dealt with.

“The track in question was delivered to us by a provider, whose responsibility it is to ensure that content delivered to Spotify is fully licensed and in compliance with our Infringement Policy. We take the integrity of our catalogue very seriously, and will immediately remove any content that is found to be incorrectly licensed or attributed to the incorrect artist or composer. The track was taken down as soon as it was discovered (3 days after it was delivered), and we will be taking the matter further with the provider who delivered this track.”

Apparently, as The Guardian reports, the Lost Prophets-attributed song has been available on the Internet for the past month. Perhaps Taylor Swift has been too busy touring Australia to notice, but it seems strange that no one on her team realized what was happening.

“I Knew You Were Trouble” is known to be a Taylor Swift song. The music has been removed from Spotify, so life can go on for the performer and her adoring fans. The holidays are just around the corner, which will be a nice time for Swift to take a break and wind down before the New Year and all it brings with it.
