The newest Ronda Rousey photos coming out on social media are not of the usual type. U.S. Marines member Jarrod Haschert had previously asked the UFC fighter to attend the U.S. Marine Corps Call with him, and it turns out Rousey decided to take him up on the offer.
At this point, the match between Holm and Rousey has overshadowed pretty much all discussion of Rousey’s life. Most may have forgotten, but way back in September of this year, she was asked to attend a U.S. Marines event by Haschert. She agreed at the time based upon one condition.
“He’s gotta be a gentleman, though, I’m not a first date kind of girl,” Rousey said at the time. “But, I dunno, we’ll see when I meet him.”
Rousey flew out to South Carolina on Friday morning and TMZ managed to catch up with the MMA fighter for a quote.
“I promised I’d go,” she said. “It’s an honor to be asked. Honestly, I’d probably stay on my couch, crying and eating ice cream if he hadn’t asked me. So it’s probably a good thing.”
The TMZ camerman also asked about Rousey’s thoughts on the planned Holm rematch, and she replied, “It’s what I want, but it’s up to the UFC and it’s up to her camp, so we’ll see what happens.”

Rousey was spotted a black floor-length gown for the U.S. Marine Corps Ball. Friends of Haschert also congratulated the Marine for his date with the UFC fighter.
“YES JARROD YES! I hope you had a blast, I know you worked so hard & your service means everything to us,” wrote one of Haschert’s friends on his Facebook page. “You’re accomplished so much in your life already, just keep going bud.”
Ronday Rousey’s Instagram account also lit up earlier today with a message thanking Haschert for the good time.
“Thank you Lance Cpl. Jarrod Haschert for taking me to the Marine Corps Ball, being such a gentleman, and putting a smile on my face again,” she said.
Ronda Rousey’s medical suspension has had her mostly missing in action in recent weeks. In fact, the damage done to her face and mouth was so extensive that she commented about not eating apples for several months.
But the reason that she disappeared from the MMA scene has nothing to do with her loss or her injuries. Days before Holly Holm’s UFC championship match, Rousey announced that she was planning on taking some time to herself.
“I’m selling a product and I have to be out there; I don’t have the option not to be,” she said at the time. “But after this fight, I’m definitely going to let some people miss me, for sure. Believe me, there’s nothing I would like to do more than disappear for a while…. I have to be out there to sell these fights; it’s not because I really enjoy getting made up and going to work every day.”
Rousey even described her MMA career as just a job “because it helps me make a living and not because I’m so extremely vain that I want to see my face everywhere.” While attending the U.S. Marine Corps Ball with Jarrod Haschert certainly did put her face everywhere on social media, it is good to see her laughing and smiling again.
