Caitlyn Jenner Says Looking Like A Man In A Dress Makes People Uncomfortable
Caitlyn Jenner is receiving some backlash after her comments to Time magazine. According to Cosmo, Jenner, who was awarded a top spot on the “Person of the Year” list, is now getting backlash due to her transphobic comments.
In one of the parts of the interview, Caitlyn Jenner spoke about her “feminine presentation” and went on to say how important it is, not for herself, but so she doesn’t make other people uncomfortable. She said this is a “good image” for the trans community. Of course, this is a view that Jenner has shared on her E! reality series I am Cait, which wasn’t well received by the trans community.
“One thing that has always been important for me, and it may seem very self-absorbed or whatever, is first of all, your presentation of who you are.”
And sure, while it’s great to feel and look feminine, Jenner makes it clear that this presentation of looking like a woman is so that other people are comfortable, which assumes that people judge trans people when they don’t resemble these heteronormative images that is perpetuated in the media.
“I think it’s much easier for a trans woman or a trans man who authentically kind of looks and plays the role. So what I call my presentation. I try to take that seriously. I think it puts people at ease. If you’re out there and, to be honest with you, if you look like a man in a dress, it makes people uncomfortable. So the first thing I can do is try to present myself well. I want to dress well. I want to look good. When I go out, as Kim says, you’ve got to rock it because the paparazzi will be there.”

Caitlyn Jenner speaking up on trans issues is a good thing, but not when her message is muddled by periodic transphobic dialogue.

@Caitlyn_Jenner girl, I cannot defend you any further against transphobic comments when you yourself are part of the problem…

This isn’t the first time she’s outraged people. Back in August it was reported that Caitlyn Jenner was criticized for having very conservative views while living a very progressive and open life as a woman. Some of her friends worried that she wouldn’t be the best person to speak on the trans community’s behalf due to her views on marriage and other conservative views.

For instance, Jenner discussed how she’s leery about trans people receiving welfare, due to their discrimination in the work place. “Don’t a lot of times they can make more not working with social programs than they actually can with an entry-level job?. You don’t want people to get totally dependent on it. That’s when they get in trouble – ‘Why should I work? I got a few bucks, I got my room paid for.'”

The last we heard from Caitlyn Jenner, she was allegedly demanding separate bathroom at a country club. In Touch reported that Jenner was an avid golfer at her country club when she was Bruce, but after transitioning, there was talk about which bathroom she would use and how she would fit into the climate.
That said, Gossip Cop refuted these rumors.
What do you think of Caitlyn Jenner’s comments?
