Green Arrow Vs. Batman: Stephen And Robbie Amell Spark Online Debate On Winner

Green Arrow came to the CW back in 2012, but Stephen Amell’s iteration of the DC Comics favorite did not come straight out of the package as Green Arrow. Amell’s take on the character has been called The Hood, Vigilante, Arrow, Al Sah-Him, and of course, now he is finally the Green Arrow. During CW’s careful transformation and development of the character, he has often been compared to having Batman on TV without it actually being Batman. Questions of whether Batman could come to Star City has come up, as Comicbook reports, and it was an inquiry into whether The Joker could drop in that elicited this answer from Stephen Amell.

“Well, I mean, the short answer is yes, of course. Within the DC Universe, if they are in the DC Universe, if you were to ask if Iron Man could come to Arrow, I would be like, ‘Well, no, probably not. “But of course, The Joker could come to Arrow, Batman could come to Arrow, Superman could show up on The Flash. There’s a whole myriad of options because again DC and WB have a slate of films coming up, and those films happen, and maybe Arrow’s still around when they’re done. Or maybe there’s a change and people are just like, ‘You know what, let’s invest in something that’s doing well for us.’ So you never know.”

The questioning of Stephen Amell, Green Arrow himself, did not end there. When asked who would win in a fight, Batman Vs Green Arrow, he replied that he would win. Arrow star Stephen Amell elaborated on his first response.

“What do you want me to say? Well, Batman’s more experienced and his costumes cooler, and Arrow’s just a ripoff, so Batman would win for sure. No, I would win, absolutely.”

After complimenting Batman, Amell claimed the victory for Green Arrow over the Dark Knight. Stephen Amell was not the only person to weigh in on the Batman vs. Green Arrow debate. As the plot thickens, Robbie Amell chose to chime in on the debate as well. Robbie Amell inquired on Facebook, “Where do you get off saying that you could beat up Batman?!” Stephen Amell added another ingredient to the mix, as he posed another question.

“What the h*ll am I supposed to say Uncle Bob? What if someone asked you if Firestorm could beat Batman?!??”

Though a Firestorm vs. Batman match-up was suggestively thrown down, it did not cause quite the stir that a Batman vs. Green Arrow one did. Stephen Amell did not let it end there. The Arrow star used Firestorm to illustrate his point as to why he said that the Green Arrow could beat Batman.

“See this is my point. What would happen if you were at a Q&A and a little kid in a Firestorm costume said to you, ‘Who would win in a fight, Ronnie or Bruce Wayne?’ You know what you would say. Actually, you might say Batman, because you’ve had an unhealthy obsession with Batman for a long time.”

Amell stands up for his fans, which has been indicative of his Arrow career from the start, so his explanation seems legitimate. Sadly, this does not settle the debate as to who exactly would win between Batman and Green Arrow. Now, as added bonus, the question extends to whether or not Firestorm or Batman would win in their own battle.

Batman vs Green Arrow has already found its way into a fan-made video mashup of Batman Begins scenes with Arrow season 1 scenes, which flows surprisingly well. With Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice on its way, and a Justice League movie in the future, perhaps that fight is not too far off.

For now, you can watch Green Arrow vs. Hawkeye in this video put together by Ismahawk. Perhaps, with these guys doing match-ups, a Green Arrow vs Batman might come sooner than fans might think. Firestorm vs. Batman seems less likely.

What are your thoughts?

Who would win in a fight? How likely will it be that fans will get the chance to witness such a match-up?
