Michelle Williams Anxious For Possible Cougar Town Guest Spot

It’s been speculated for years whether or not Cougar Town star Busy Philipps would convince her BFF Michelle Williams to guest star on the comedy show, and now it looks like she has. Since the show has switched from ABC to TBS, Cougar Town’s days are no longer numbered which means there’s room for Williams to make a guest appearance that could see the actress make a huge departure from her usual dramatic film roles.

Although it’s not certain when Michelle Williams guest appearance will tape, if it’s up to the actress it’s definitely in the near future. Williams told the Huffington Post that she’s looking forward to the possibility of sharing the screen with Philipps. The two haven’t been on the same network since Dawson’s Creek took its final bow in 2004.

“We’ve been talking about it enough that I’m sure it’s going to happen,” said Williams “I loved the crossover they did with ‘Community,'” she says. “I really want to. I’m sure that we will at some point. I think they’ve got a couple more years on the show, so, I think we can find a way.”

As of right now Williams is currently promoting her Sarah Polley independent film Take This Waltz which stars Seth Rogen. Up next for her is a relaxing summer with beau Jason Segel, and then it’s promotion for the March 2013 release of Oz: The Great and Powerful, which will see her play the role of Glinda. As for future projects it’s been rumored she’s in line for Paul Feig’s American remake of The Intouchables, but nothing is concrete just yet.

If everything works out, what kind of character would you like to see Michelle Williams play on Cougar Town?
