Lamar Odom Leaving Hospital, Headed To Rehab: Khloe Kardashian To Support Him But, There’s One Big Stipulation
Lamar Odom is finally leaving Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after nearly two months in the hospital. According to Hollywood Life, the former NBA star will be heading directly to a rehabilitation facility after he’s discharged. Although the 36-year-old still has a long road to recovery ahead, an insider source has revealed he’s actually improving each day.
During a brief chat with Us magazine, the insider shared details abut Lamar Odom’s progress. Although he’s physically progressing, he’s still reportedly having mental setbacks. But, nevertheless, he is improving.
“He actually gets a little better every day,” the insider told the publication. “He talks a bit more each day and walks with a walker, but still has trouble processing his thoughts. It’s very slow but little by little.”
Since Lamar Odom will reportedly require around-the-clock care for quite some time, it is unclear how long he will stay in a rehabilitation facility. But, luckily for him, he won’t be facing the recovery battle alone because Khloe Kardashian has made it clear that she will be by Lamar’s side as moral support for however long it takes for him to recover. However, there’s one big stipulation.
Although the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has no problem assisting her estranged, she has made it clear that Lamar Odom will not be residing in her home. As previously reported on Inquisitr, an insider close to Khloe told Radar Online that she refuses to allow him to live with her.
“Khloe has flat our refused to let Lamar move into her house. She doesn’t want her house to be a hospital. She has been very clear about that.”
By now, almost everyone knows why Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom are estranged. Prior to Lamar being found unconscious inside a Las Vegas brothel following an alleged overdose, they were headed straight for divorce and quite close to finalizing. However, Lamar’s big health scare led to their decision to halt the divorce proceedings.
News outlets immediately began speculating that they’d done so in an effort to save their marriage, but Khloe set the record straight by clarifying that their divorce proceedings were merely postponed. In fact, back in October Khloe addressed the reconciliation rumors and refuted the claims about them attempting to save their marriage, according to People magazine.
“It’s out in the media that we are back together, but I wish people understood that’s not in our thought process right now,” the reality star previously explained. “There are too many other important things, too many medical things. It’s not even in our brains thinking about us as a couple or having a relationship right now.”
Although she will always love Lamar Odom, she still has every intention of moving forward with her life and divorce is still part of the plan, according to In Touch Weekly.
“I still very much love Lamar but I need to move forward. I don’t feel you ever really have peace from walking away from any situation that you wish ended up differently,” she said. “Do I know for a fact that I’ve done every single thing that I could to try to save that marriage? A hundred percent.”
Lamar Odom may still be fighting an uphill recovery battle, but he has made great strides thus far. Initially, he was given a relatively grim prognosis with only a 50/50 chance of survival. Numerous health updates revealed he’s suffered brain damage, kidney failure and incontinence as a result of the alleged overdose, but luckily Lamar Odom has a second chance at life.
