‘Teen Mom 2’ Cast: Corey Simms & Jenelle Evans Both Quitting?

The Teen Mom 2 cast for Season 7 may include a couple of major cast shakeups. In addition to the ongoing rumors regarding Corey Simms’ possible exit, cast member Jenelle Evans recently announced she was “done with the show” on Twitter.

On October 10, OK! Magazine reported news of the potential Teen Mom 2 cast changes, claiming the show’s seventh season is currently in production.

In July, Life & Style claimed that Simms and his wife, Miranda, were leaving the MTV reality show, and that Leah Messer’s second husband, Jeremy Calvert, may follow their lead.

“Corey is done with [Teen Mom 2],” a source told the magazine at the time. “He’s told MTV he will not return for another season. He doesn’t think the money is worth the aggravation anymore.”

“Jeremy also wants out of [Teen Mom 2], but he hasn’t made any formal moves yet.”

However, while Simms and Miranda were expected to leave Teen Mom 2 ahead of Season 7, a report by the Ashley’s Reality Roundup on December 9 claimed the pair had been filming.

Throughout the sixth season of Teen Mom 2, Simms and his wife faced backlash from fans who felt they were too hard on Messer, who they alleged was hiding a drug problem. After confronting Messer with accusations that she’s been using drugs and failing at her parental responsibilities with their 5-year-old twin girls, Ali and Aleeah, Simms and his wife dealt with harsh comments from viewers on social media, leading Miranda to make her account private. Then, after the season wrapped, Simms deactivated his account all together.

“Right now they can’t really quit, but they would surely like to leave behind all the drama that the show brings,” the Ashley’s source revealed, confirming Calvert hadn’t left the show either.

As for Evans, who told fans she was leaving the show last week after learning her ex-fiance, Nathan Griffith, had been filming, the Ashley’s source said she could leave if she wanted but likely wouldn’t due to her MTV salary. The source also claimed Evans could be threatening to quit the show in an effort to have Griffith off or to get more money for her participation in Teen Mom 2, which wasn’t going to happen.

Meanwhile, with both of her ex-husbands continuing to film Teen Mom 2, speculation continues into the love life of Messer. For months now, Messer has been linked to her personal trainer, T.R. Dues, but so far, neither she nor Dues have confirmed their relationship, and Dues was suspiciously edited out of Teen Mom 2 Season 6, despite the fact that he was allegedly living with Messer at the time.

As for the rest of the Teen Mom 2 cast, Kailyn Lowry and Javi Marroquin are believed to be on board, and the series will likely also follow Lowry’s ex-boyfriend, Jo Rivera, and his girlfriend, Vee Torres, who recently welcomed a child together. Fans are also expected to be reunited with Chelsea Houska, who became engaged to Cole DeBoer last month (although it remains unknown whether or not Teen Mom 2 cameras captured the romantic moment) and embarked on a tropical vacation a short time later.

Teen Mom 2 Season 7 is expected to air sometime next year on MTV. However, the series’ renewal has yet to be confirmed by MTV. MTV also has yet to speak out on rumors regarding Evans’ alleged exit.
