Kim Kardashian Baby Name ‘Saint West’ Prevails Over ‘Easton West’
Kim Kardashian gave her newborn baby the name “Saint West” after dillydallying over a possible “Easton West,” which new Daddy Kanye West wasn’t too keen on. The reality TV star posted her final name choice Monday afternoon, December 7, 2015, after her son arrived by natural childbirth on Saturday, adding to the ranks of uniquely named Kardashian offspring like older sister North West and cousin Reign Disick.
According to Hollywood Life, four emojis symbolic of Kim’s expanded family accompanied the birth announcement posted on her website with Kardashian’s choice of a baby name. The announcement simply read as follows.
“Saint West. 12.05.15. 8 pounds, 1 ounce.”
The four emojis underscore an accomplishment for Kim, 35, now possessed of a well-rounded family. The completed circle consists of herself; Kanye West, 38; North, 2; and new member Saint, going on 1 week old. For the Kardashian diva’s 54 million Instagram followers, this bit of trivia on her baby’s name is as noteworthy as her latest nude shot.

According to Today, Kim revealed the name she was partial to during her appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in September. Kardashian explained the factor affecting her baby name choice for North’s sibling.
“I do like the name Easton, Easton West. I don’t think my husband likes that name, but I do like it.”
Kim Kardashian tracked her pregnancy online for her Twitter followers, the Denver Post reported. Consistent with her posts throughout her second pregnancy was the intimate sharing of details with her followers. In a post about “Baby West,” when she was seven months pregnant, she complained about feeling like a “f*#king whale.” In a Hollywood Life update, she confessed her craving for taco salad, though Mexican candy was off-limits for her because it gave her too much heartburn. Her pet peeve was having “to pee every five minutes” from her unborn child, whose name was up in the air, “sitting” on her bladder.
With millions of people attuned to what was going on in her womb, Kim Kardashian gave them something else to chew on. She released an Instagram image of herself posing with her bare belly late Friday, December 4, waiting for a baby with name unknown.
“Ready whenever you are lol.”
While giddy from anticipation, Kim Kardashian suffered what TMZ described as “the most painful experience ever” with placenta accreta in advance of the baby she was to name.
The condition where the placenta grows too deeply into the uterus made the birthing process more difficult. The attending doctors needed two extra hours to deal with Kim’s complications, but the Kardashian streak showed through in her choice of natural childbirth over c-section, to bring forth the baby she was to name.

The new family of four had its beginnings in the Spring of 2012 when Kim and Kanye West began dating. They welcomed their first child together, North, in June of 2013, and West rented San Francisco’s AT&T Park in October 2013 for his much-publicized proposal of marriage to her. Kardashian and West were married on May 24, 2014 at Fort di Belvedere in Florence, Italy, featured in Keeping Up With the Kardashians. Then followed the baby to carry the name “Saint.”
According to TMZ, Kim’s painful birthing ordeal has taken a significant toll on her appetite. She has reportedly lost all her cravings and has settled for a lot of hospital oatmeal. This food choice could be easily construed as atypical of a Kardashian. She could blame this condition of the palate on her baby called “Saint”.
