Facebook’s Most Talked-About Entertainers Are Kanye West, Taylor Swift, And More

Every day, there’s a ton of celebrities who trend on Twitter and Facebook, but which celebrities are the most talked about? According to E! Online, there’s a select few who make are the most talked-about artists on Facebook. These artists trend so often that they’ve made their own list of most talked-about artists.

The most talked about entertainers on Facebook are Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, and more.

Here’s a top 10 list of the most talked about entertainers of 2015.

The only one that sticks out as someone who isn’t an entertainer is Caitlyn Jenner, but with all things considered, she had a big year, so it isn’t a huge surprise to see her trending on Facebook. First, Caitlyn, formerly Bruce, announced to Diane Sawyer about transitioning into a woman. Once the transition was finally complete, Caitlyn’s Vanity Fair cover debuted, and everyone was stunned by how beautiful she looked. Most compared her to Jessica Lange, but she received backlash from others.

Jenner practically broke the internet when her cover came out, but nothing trended faster than when it was revealed she was in contention for Woman of The Year award by Glamour. Many brought up that there were candidates who earned it over Jenner, but Glamour didn’t backtrack and awarded Caitlyn with the honor, which received even more backlash. Jenner’s Woman of The Year award was so polarizing that a widower of a 9/11 cop returned an award that his wife received posthumously after dying in the attacks on 9/11.

Another big surprise from this list is Ed Sheeran’s position. The singer-songwriter trumped his good friend Taylor Swift for the number one spot. It’s been a good year for Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift. Sheeran was recently nominated for three Grammys and even got the biggest nomination of the night with Record of The Year for his song “Thinking Out Loud.”

While Taylor went on to break a few more records with her album “1989”, and found love with DJ and former Jingle Ball tour mate Calvin Harris. It seems like Swift is always in the news, trending on everything from almost taking down Spotify due to her no streaming policy to her charity work, so it’s a surprise that she didn’t earn the top spot.

Coming in at number three is Kanye West, and that’s definitely not a shocker. West is always in the news. If it’s not for his outrageous comments in the media, then it’s for his rich and fabulous life with wife Kim Kardashian and their daughter North “Nori” West. West was mostly in the news this year thanks to his entrepreneurial businesses like his shoe and clothing lines. Music wise, a lot of people are still wondering when he’s going to drop his new album SWISH, so that subject alone has been a point of interest for many features and articles.

On the personal side of things, people couldn’t stop talking about the impending birth of Kim and Kanye’s son. Once they revealed the name of their baby boy (Saint West) that only brought more chatter to the West-Kardashian family dynasty. Hopefully, talk will die down now that Saint West has arrived.
