Teresa Giudice Prison Release Countdown: ‘RHONJ’ Husband Joe Will Begin Sentence In Early 2016

Teresa Giudice is coming home for the holidays. After serving nearly 12 months behind bars for crimes of bank and wire fraud, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star is scheduled to be released from prison on December 23, just in time to spend Christmas with her husband, Joe, and their four daughters.

In October of last year, Teresa Giudice and her husband were sentenced for their crimes, with Teresa Giudice receiving a 15-month prison term, which has since been reduced, and Joe receiving a 41-month term, which he will begin early next year.

“Everyone’s doing a countdown. It’s an exciting time,” a source told E! News on December 8 of Teresa Giudice’s upcoming release. “Everyone’s excited to see [Teresa Giudice] again and come over to the house and hug her.”

“Everyone’s just very proud of how [Teresa Giudice]’s handled things and gotten through it and stayed strong. They’re really thankful she’s finally coming home.”

E! News also claimed Teresa Giudice’s family wasn’t yet thinking of her husband Joe’s upcoming term.

According to a report in October by NJ Advance Media, Teresa Giudice’s husband will be serving his prison sentence at Fort Dix, a low-security prison in Burlington County, New Jersey. During an episode of his family’s Real Housewives of New Jersey special, Teresa Checks In, Joe reportedly pointed out the facility on the way to his former vacation home, telling his brother-in-law, Joe Gorga, “That’s where I’m stationed to go at the [bleeping] end of March.”

As Teresa Giudice prepares to come home to her family, she’s also getting ready for the highly anticipated release of her upcoming memoir, Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again, which will be released in bookstores on February 9, 2016.

According to a press release, shared by The Daily Dish last month, it was revealed that Teresa Giudice’s newest book will give readers a “behind-the-scenes look at life in prison, her marriage, her rise to fame, the importance of her family, and the reality TV franchise that made her a household name in her explosive and ultimately uplifting first-ever memoir.”

“People think they know everything about me… but they don’t. Not even close,” Teresa Giudice said in a statement about Turning the Tables. “The world will see a new Teresa. A different Teresa. Well, actually, the Teresa I always was.”

In addition, as per the press release, Teresa Giudice’s Turning the Tables: From Housewife to Inmate and Back Again will reveal “memorable moments of her prison stay, including the cringe-inducing fistfights she witnessed, the awkward conundrum of being trapped when a fellow inmate had a…guest…over, and the strength she found while confined between four concrete walls.”

Prior to her time behind bars, Teresa Giudice starred on The Real Housewives of New Jersey for six seasons, and although the series’ renewal has yet to be confirmed, she is expected to return to the Bravo reality series upon her prison release for filming on Season 7.

In September, Entertainment Tonight Online commented on Teresa Giudice’s return to the hit show, claiming the mother of four would be joined by her sister-in-law Melissa Gorga and Jacqueline Laurita. Meanwhile, stated the report, Nicole Napolitano and Teresa Aprea would not return, nor would Dina Manzo, who came back to the show for season six after a three-season hiatus.

No word yet on when Teresa Giudice will begin filming season seven.
