Kerry Washington And Husband Nnamdi Asomugha Battle Divorce Rumors As $2.7 Million Home Listed [Photos]
It’s like a scene out of Scandal, only the divorce rumors surrounding Kerry Washington aren’t stuff that involves Fitz, Mellie, or Vermont. Instead, the latest saga in Kerry’s life is reportedly the rumors that Washington and Nnamdi Asomugha might divorce, reports Radar Online.
Lots of puns about Kerry needing the help of Olivia Pope are floating around the web, especially as news comes that Washington, and her husband, ex-NFL pro Nnamdi, have listed their house in the Hollywood Hills West for sale, as reported by the Los Angeles Times. The beautiful 1926 home is going for $2.695 million and can be seen in photos on the publication’s site. Nearly 4,000 square feet, the home is bright and airy, with views of the Hollywood sign and the famous Griffith Observatory.
Washington and her husband, a retired NFL player, stepped out to attend the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors reception in the East Room of the White House on Sunday, December 6. It was seemingly just like a scene from Scandal, with Kerry’s character being used to flitting around the White House. However, detractors claim that it is the fact that Nnamdi’s football career being cut short is what is causing alleged problems in the marriage. Unfounded reports claim Asomugha is at home while Kerry pulls long days filming Scandal. Whereas the couple attending the 2015 Kennedy Center Honors might have been seen as some as a way to put those divorce rumors to rest, the allegations of a troubled marriage continue; especially in light of the listing of the home for sale.
The above photo of Kerry and Nnamdi, where they attended the celebration to honor such legends as Carole King, George Lucas, Rita Moreno, Seiji Ozawa, and Cicely Tyson, doesn’t show the married couple looking as happy as previous photos.
Kerry and her husband can also be seen in plenty of photos on Google images, some from the same evening, in which Washington looks happy with President Fitz by her side with her real-life husband.
Earlier photos from 2013 showed Kerry with her husband as Washington was pregnant with their child. There was the event held by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences in North Hollywood, California that made the news during the same year that news about Washington’s marriage broke.
A notoriously private woman when it comes to her romantic life, Kerry had married the professional football player — but the public didn’t find out about the nuptials to Nnamdi until a copy of the marriage license appeared online. Back then, the 31-year-old Asomugha still played football, and the 36-year-old actress was still starring in her famous TV role. They were married on June 24 in Hailey, Idaho.
Back in 2013, the San Francisco 49ers cornerback was all smiles leaving training camp, with Nnamdi seemingly enjoying his new wife. Asomugha left practice in Santa Clara, California. The marriage between Asomugha and Kerry was able to be kept a secret for longer than some Hollywood marriages could be kept quiet under such a spotlight. News about Kerry being married didn’t break until July 3, a good 10 days after Washington was married on June 24.
Kerry and Nnamdi’s newest photos might not show the same blush of first love as their initial photos did, but only time will tell if the separation and divorce rumors dogging the couple are true or not.
Kerry and her husband had a baby girl on April 21, 2014. Just like Washington’s marriage certificate appeared online, a birth certificate published on Friday, May 2, 2014, displayed the fact that Kerry and her husband had a daughter named Isabelle Amarachi Asomugha at approximately 5 p.m. on that day in Los Angeles.
