Taylor Swift is reportedly taking a break after her 1989 World Tour wraps up this coming weekend. A report surfaced that the singer is planning on taking a longer than usual break from making music.

Rumors circulated about Swift’s supposed break as far back as early October. She told NME magazine that she thinks the general public needs a break from her. Swift also hinted to the magazine that she may not be making music for a while.
“I think I should take some time off. I think people might need a break from me. I’m going to…I don’t know. Hang out with my friends. Write new music. Maybe not write new music. I don’t know.”
According to contributing writer Dan Stubbs, Taylor genuinely seemed like she doesn’t know what she wants to do after her world tour ends. He did ask her to hint about some of the songs she’s already written, but she refused to say. In the interview, Taylor also addressed that she makes headlines every day, whether it’s for her outfits, her relationship with DJ Calvin Harris, or her famous friendships. She realizes that all of the negatives headlines and bad press can get to her head sometimes, which is probably another reason why she needs a break.
“I’m in the news every single day for multiple reasons. And it can feel, at times, if you let your anxiety get the better of you, like everybody’s waiting for you to really mess up – and then you’ll be done. A lot of time I need to call my mom and talk for a really long time, just to remind myself of all the things that are great and all the things that matter.”
Well, apparently Taylor Swift is taking three years off to focus on her friends and family, and her boyfriend, Calvin Harris, according to the Hollywood Life. Swift’s final tour date is on Dec. 12, and her birthday is on Dec. 13, so she’s looking forward to taking some time off, an alleged insider told the celebrity gossip blog.
“Taylor is really looking forward to an extended break after her tour and the holidays. She will still write and collaborate when the timing is right but she has been telling people not to expect a new album from her for potentially three years.”
The “Wildest Dreams” singer will kick off her big break with her 26th birthday on Dec. 13. It was previously rumored by the Australian press that Swift was planning to fly her girlfriends and her boyfriend Down Under, but she has taken to Instagram to deny those rumors. Swift already has been relaxing with her family, friends, and 125-person crew and band in and around Australia. She shared a group photo of her crew, thanking them for their hard work and addressing those pesky rumors. Swift told her fans that she was planning to have a “quiet birthday” this year.
But it’s not like the blue-eyed and blonde-haired singer to take such a long break. Maybe Taylor feels pressured to follow up on the success of her popular 1989 album. Ever since her debut album, Taylor has released an album every two years, with no delays in between. Now fans will have to wait even longer for some new music from the singer.
There are also rumors circulating of a Tayvin breakup once again, according to Now Magazine. But Harris was spotted at Swift’s Miami concert last month, putting an end to those rumors for now. Still, Swift’s track record with relationships hasn’t been good, especially since she ended things with her three previous boyfriends over the holidays.
Reports claimed that Calvin was joining Taylor and her family for Thanksgiving in Nashville, but their supposed plans must have changed since she was spotted filming her next music video in New Zealand before heading back to Australia for her final tour dates.
