Directioners got into a frenzy when the boys became the latest guests of James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke. The Late Late Show talk host took the wheel with Niall Horan beside him. Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson were photographed in the rear seats. At one point, the boys lowered their SUV’s tinted windows, which prompted several fans to share photos of One Direction filming for the segment.
Various accounts providing One Direction updates claim that the crooners performed their chart-topping singles “What Makes You Beautiful,” “Best Song Ever,” and “No Control.” One Direction’s Carpool Karaoke likewise used Backstreet Boys’ “I Want It That Way.”

While filming One Direction’s Carpool Karaoke, the team pulled into a McDonald’s drive-thru chain. Sugarscape reports that the boys ordered “a McChicken, three medium fries, three Big Mac combos, two cheeseburgers, two McDoubles and a chocolate milkshake.”

During Corden’s Carpool Karaoke segments, he drives around Los Angeles with the guest celebrity singing along to various songs. The segment is one of the late-night host’s efforts to keep his show unique. Some celebrities who have previously agreed to star in the segment were Justin Bieber, Mariah Carey, Iggy Azalea, Carrie Underwood, and Stevie Wonder.
It appears that Corden didn’t encounter a difficult time convincing One Direction. In a previous interview with People, the host, who’s also friends with the band members, praised 1D for remaining grounded despite their success in the music industry.
“They’ve gotten older, and they’ve gotten richer, but their sensibility of who they are as people feels exactly the same. It’s an astonishing meteoric rise, their whole life changed – and I’m very, very proud of how they have remained true to who they are.”
One Direction recently appeared on Corden’s show, which made Styles go home with a new tattoo. The boys participated in a Tattoo Roulette game where each of them needed to select one from the five boxes lined up. Four contained the word “SAFE” while one had the word “TATTOO.” If Corden would lose, he would have 1D permanently etched onto his belly. Styles eventually lost and was branded with a Late Late mark to his already vast tattoo collection.
Prior to the confirmation that there’d be a One Direction Carpool Karaoke, fan group @MITAMPromoTeam already did a mashup of Directioners singing along to their favorite Made in the A.M. tracks while inside the car. Even Corden noticed the video and shared it on Twitter.
One Direction is making the most out of their time before going on extended hiatus beginning next year. On Friday night, the boys performed their final show in the United States, and it was deemed emotional by eyewitnesses.
“To be honest with you, this show is kind of an important one for us. This is going to be the last time for a little while. I feel myself getting a little emotional,” Payne told the iHeartRadio “Jingle Ball” audience in LA.
After performing some of their hits including “Drag Me Down,” “Perfect,” “What Makes You Beautiful,” and “Story of My Life,” the Wolverhampton-born singer left the stage with a promise that they’d be with the fans soon.
The hiatus will reportedly last for two years, and while the boys are looking forward to having quality time with family and friends, they won’t completely be out of the loop because they are likewise excited to work on solo projects.
