Quentin Tarantino Gives New Life To ‘Kill Bill: Vol. 3’ Rumors, Says Characters Needed To Enjoy Life A Little First

Quentin Tarantino is still making the rounds to promote his new upcoming movie The Hateful Eight and while the movie has all the classic Tarantino touches fans are still finding themselves obsessed about his most famous movie to date: Kill Bill. While rumors of another installment to the movie have long been circulating, Quentin’s recent appearance on What the Flick?!, hosted by Ben Wankiewicz, saw the director openly discussing the very real possibility of Kill Bill: Vol. 3.

It has been 11 years since Beatrix Kiddo graced the big screen, but even the character’s star has said she would be more than open to returning to the role. Another talent that Tarantino seems to have perfected is keeping hope alive in the hearts of fans everywhere, but as the A.V. Club can confirm, Volume 3’s delay is for a good reason.

“I put the character of Beatrix Kiddo through a lot. And, so I wanted her to have this much time for peace… I wanted her to have some time with her daughter and not have to be in the genre-machine. She could actually enjoy her life for a while.”

This latest interview is not the first time that he has mentioned making a third volume for Kill Bill. Earlier this year, Tarantino did an interview at Comic-Con and said he would not rule out the possibility. In the same interview, he also announced that Uma Thurman would be on board, too.

“We’ll see. Never say never. We’ll see when it comes to Kill Bill 3. Uma (Thurman) would really like to do it, we talk about it every once in a while.”

Tarantino is now giving away certain plot points that the movie would contain and telling us just who would be on the receiving end of that deliciously wicked sword that Kiddo owns. According to Polygon, the mastermind states that he has always had an idea of what he wants to do with the characters, how he plans to develop them but wanted to give the characters some time time to relax and the actors some time to age naturally. The point he made regarding the actors getting time to age does make it sound as if he may already have more than one of the original actors standing by to return in Kill Bill Vol. 3.

Quentin Tarantino has also pandered to the rumors that it will be the daughter of Vernita Green, a.k.a. Copperhead (played by Vivica A. Fox in the original movie) who will be the main rival in the nextKill Bill. Copperhead was one of the comrades that The Bride/Black Mamba sought revenge against in Volume 1 of the two part movie series. Uma Thurman’s character was forced to kill the woman in front of her daughter, and she took the time to tell the little girl that if she needed revenge one day it would be fine by her.

“It’s not my intention to do this in front of you. For that I’m sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it coming. When you grow up, if you still feel raw about it, I’ll be waiting.”

While details like a script, cast or even a production timeline have not been been made available to fans of the wildly popular films, they can rest easy with Quentin Tarantino’s track record as a measuring stick for for what a new Kill Bill would have to offer. Although, since Bill has been killed, perhaps a new name may be in order? Nonetheless, if Kill Bill Vol. 3 manifests beyond a rumor, fans can definitely expect tons of blood, action and violence.
