Sean Lowe Hopes ‘Bachelor’ Ben Higgins Picks A ‘Good Girl With Good Morals’

Former Bachelor star Sean Lowe and his wife, Catherine Giudici Lowe, will celebrate their second wedding anniversary in January, the same month Ben Higgins begins his journey to find love on ABC’s popular reality show.

During an interview with ET, Sean and Catherine were very positive about Ben taking on the role of the Bachelor and are hopeful that he will find the girl of his dreams on the show and “join the married club.” Of course, they don’t want him to pick just anyone, with Sean stating that he hopes Ben’s final pick is a “good girl with good morals.”

“I think he’s sincere in the fact that he really wants to find a wife. I think he’s a great guy looking for a good girl with good morals. So I hope one of the 25 is a good match so he can join the married club with us.”

According to Reality Steve, Ben will have more than 25 ladies to pick from, giving him better odds. He reports that 28 girls were cast for the show’s 20th season and Ben picked his frontrunner early on in the show. Does that mean he gets engaged and lives happily ever after? Fans love a happy ending, so it’s likely Ben won’t disappoint, but making it to the altar may not be so easy. After all, the track record for the show isn’t all that good.

WetPaint reports that there are are six couples who are still together after 19 seasons of The Bachelor and 11 seasons of The Bachelorette — Trista and Ryan, Ashley and J.P., Desiree and Chris, Jason and Molly, Sean and Catherine, and Kaitlyn and Shawn. Although Molly wasn’t Jason’s final pick, he did dump his final pick (Melissa Rycroft) for her on the After the Final Rose special, so they are considered a Bachelor success story.

All of the Bachelor couples have big fan followings, especially Sean and Catherine. They have stayed in the public eye for almost two years since they tied the knot on a live ABC special. They post about their married life quite frequently on Twitter and Instagram and returned to TV to appear on Celebrity Wife Swap last summer.

The couple currently appears on Marriage Boot Camp and after just one episode, some fans are shocked to find out that their marriage isn’t as perfect as it appears on social media. Reality TV World reports that on the December 4 season premiere, Sean admitted that there have been times when he thought that he couldn’t handle the arguments he’s had with Catherine.

Sean and Catherine play the “Newlywed Game” during the premiere, a game that proves to be a very revealing test of their relationship. Although he says that he “can’t do this anymore,” he makes it clear that he doesn’t want out of the marriage, he just wants the fighting to stop.

“There have been times when we’ve fought that I have said, ‘I just can’t do this anymore. It’s in the heat of the moment. But I don’t mean that I can’t do marriage anymore, I mean that I can’t do the fighting anymore.”

Fortunately, fans won’t see the couple heading for divorce court anytime soon. Sean tells People that although it was a difficult two weeks filming the show, Catherine helped him through it and the whole experience strengthened their marriage.

Next month, Ben Higgins will begin his quest to find a wife on the Bachelor and while spoilers indicate that he did fall in love with one of the 28 ladies cast for the show, time will tell if he will join Sean and Catherine in the marriage club.

The Bachelor Season 20 premiere on January 4, 2016 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
