Mariah Carey: Ex Nick Thinks Star’s New Relationship Is ‘Awesome,’ Mimi In Clear After Hospitalization

Mariah Carey certainly took on 2015 like a champ after a less-than-desirable 2014 that saw her stressed out and heading for a split from ex-husband Nick Cannon. The songstress also made news for a shaky performance last December that had people wondering if the powerhouse singer had lost her skills. Mariah showed up all the doubters by coming back strong with a successful Vegas residency, a top hits album, and a new relationship involving billionaire businessman James Packer.

Although it was an unfortunate and difficult time for Mariah and her ex, Nick Cannon, last year, the two have managed to stay on fantastic terms with one another for the sake of their twins, Moroccan and Monroe. The former flames ensure to spend time with the children as a family, especially on the holidays. This past Thanksgiving was proof that Cannon and Carey are all about keeping things pleasant and amicable.

Cannon recently even went so far as to call the new relationship Mariah has with Packer “awesome.” Tabloids had tried to paint Nick with a negative brush when the union began, but the star is content and happy for his ex, Mariah.

While speaking with Howard Stern, 35-year-old Cannon noted his appreciation for the 48-year-old billionaire. Life & Style shares his worlds.

“That’s awesome, isn’t it? As long as she’s happy and my children are happy, I’m happy. We hang out all the time.”

As previously stated, Mariah and Nick managed to enjoy Thanksgiving together, yet Packer was not in attendance for the gathering. Nick touched on the reason why Carey’s new flame was not present at the celebration.

“He’s Australian, it’s an American holiday. I wanted him to be there. I was looking forward to hanging out.”

Since Nick and Mariah filed for divorce in January, it’s clear that everyone is getting along, which is refreshing to hear after allegations about Cannon being unhappy about the union between Carey and Packer had surfaced a few months back. Forty-six-year-old Carey has been keeping things rolling in both career and love, which has clearly paid off.

However, as the Inquisitr recently reported, Mariah was hospitalized for a short time after suffering from the flu. Perhaps the singer’s constant hectic schedule of work, love, and jet-setting has finally caught up to her. On Friday, the diva stepped out in New York to show that a bout of flu that was severe enough for hospital time is not enough to keep her down. Carey stepped out and mustered a small smile for onlookers, as Daily Mail relays, ahead of a week that will keep the singer on the move.

“The star did not look like she was still feeling the effects of her illness – or she was putting on a brave face – as she smiled at fans waiting outside a downtown building for her.”

Carey certainly pulled herself together well, seeing as just on Wednesday, she was on an intravenous drip to replenish fluids lost due to the severe flu. As the Daily Mail shares, Carey took ill after an appearance at a Pier One store in New York on Tuesday.

It’s good to see that Carey is getting out and about, considering the singer is still scheduled to perform at Hot 97’s “Hot for the Holidays” concert this weekend in New Jersey. Mariah took to Instagram to give fans a sign that she’ll be making it to the show by posting a picture of her alongside Busta Rhymes at a previous concert.
