Ellen’s Attempts To Get Sia To Reveal Her Face

Ellen DeGeneres has a knack for getting guests to come clean, spill it all, fess up, and reveal deep parts of themselves they thought they had carefully hidden away. Recently, Ellen has had Sia on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and they have talked about why Sia doesn’t like to show her face when she is performing. According to Billboard, Sia tells the audience she doesn’t show her face because it’s the only way she can maintain her privacy.

“It’s just so I can go to Target and buy a hose if I want to. Or if I find myself in need of a restroom and I can’t find out, I can go by the side of the road – nobody would be following me with a camera, trying to get ‘the shot.'”

Hollywood Life revealed that Sia did explain to Ellen and the audience her reasoning in more detail.

“If anyone besides famous people knew what it was like to be a famous person, they would never want to be famous. Imagine the stereotypical, highly opinionated, completely uninformed mother-in-law character and apply it to every teenager with a computer in the entire world. Then add in all bored people, as well as people whose job it is to report on celebrities. Then, picture that creature, that force, criticizing you for an hour straight, once a day, every day, day after day.”

She later followed up with this.

“I don’t want to be famous or recognizable.”

In the end, Ellen did not convince Sia to take off her wig, but Sia still gave an incredible performance of “Alive.” Billboard reported that Sia had with her the young, yet mighty Maddie Ziegler to dance with all the emotion she usually gives to a performance. For the performance, Sia stood behind a large, black dress that was secured to the wall of the set. The audience could hear Sia and watch Zielger work her magic.

Aside from her show, Ellen has been busy getting ready for the upcoming holiday season and helping others get ready for it, too. Ellen has launched her own line of accessories, home décor, and apparel. The goal? To make shopping easier, particularly for those hard-to-buy-for people on anyone’s shopping list. According to Refinery 29, Ellen herself revealed what she hates about receiving gifts.

“… anything from the check-out aisle at Target. I’m on to you, people. And it’s just lazy.”

Of course, Ellen loves to give gifts. In fact, she is all about giving and now she has made a deal with Darby Stanchfield. People reports that Ellen will give $10,000 to charity if Stanchfield can live up to Ellen’s prop challenge. Stanchfield will have to sneak an unidentified prop onto the set of Scandal.

Last year, Tony Goldwyn was successful in sneaking an urn onto the set. Stanchfield tried previously with a giant lollipop, but without success. Now, she will try with a framed picture of Ellen and her wife, Portia De Rossi. The picture was drawn by a fan and Ellen really appreciated it.

“This is from a fan, I don’t know whoever sent it to me – thank you, it’s going to be on Scandal now.”

Ellen is crazy, lovable, and generous. Another cool thing about Ellen is that she knows just how to put a little twist into her generosity so it is not only charitable, but also buckets of fun. Fans of Scandal will have to watch for the crazy and unofficial prop. Ellen sure will be watching, and likely with her check book in hand.
