Zayn Malik, One Direction In New Comic For Syrian Children’s Charity

Zayn Malik has been on his own for months since his split from One Direction in March, and both sides have reported doing well since that time. However, now there is a new comic that has the five gents back together again — and there are other ways the end-of-the-year puts Zayn Malik with One Direction in the same headline.

The first instance where Zayn Malik and One Direction are reunited one last time (perhaps?) is for a fundraising event. Reported by Digital Spy, the music streaming company called Deezer is making a limited-edition comic with Zayn Malik and One Direction for a charity.

Called the Deezer’s Annual, the purpose of the carefully selected art is for a music and children’s charity called War Child. The proceeds raised via auction by the One Direction and Zayn Malik comics will help “protect children in war-torn countries, including Syria, Iraq, and Afghanistan.”

The specific One Direction/Zayn Malik panels created by comic illustrator Brian Williams show the scenes of Zayn leaving 1D.

Of course, at the end of the year, there are always news highlights compiled from months past for annual roundup articles, and Deezer’s Annual is not the only one intertwining Zayn Malik with One Direction. Since Zayn Malik began the year with One Direction, there are still several reasons their names will come up together in a headline.

Unfortunately, those times of Zayn Malik and One Direction housing the same headline are fading fast. For instance, in the interview the Fader did with Zayn Malik, it was clear that the time was coming soon when One Direction would take their hiatus and Zayn Malik will emerge as a solo artist — both sides finally dividing.

About this closing chapter in the One Direction/Zayn Malik saga, Fader ends their interview with the following notes from the writer.

“Now Zayn has chosen another path [without One Direction] … There’s something really sad about that—the once mighty band feels a little off balance, and solitary Zayn can seem so lonely in comparison.”

Nevertheless, the Fader decides Zayn Malik is not alone without One Direction because he still has his family. They conclude with “[W]hen he’s done with work tonight they’ll head home together, spend time as a family, and probably not worry about what comes next.”

Zayn Malik's mother is a big part of his life after One Direction.

On the other hand, RTE reports Zayn Malik splitting from One Direction was the eighth-biggest story of 2015, according to Bing.

In the meantime, it appears that Harry Styles might not be so delighted to have One Direction mixed with Zayn Malik ever again. As it appears, Harry Styles may have recently thrown shade at Zayn Malik when One Direction played in Mexico.

According to Hollywood Life, Harry Styles kicked a cardboard replica of Zayn Malik off of the stage after a One Direction fan threw it at Harry. Despite this, insiders say that Harry Styles has no ill will towards Zayn Malik. Instead, Harry Styles and One Direction are always getting things thrown at them — and Harry is just thankful that it wasn’t a cellphone this time.

Regardless, One Direction appear to be strong without Zayn Malik, and are rounding up their time til their hiatus with one glamorous gig after another.

The Irish Examiner reports that One Direction will perform in California (and not Times Square in NYC) for the Dick Clark New Year’s Eve Countdown. The One Direction show will be recorded at the Billboard Hollywood Party in Los Angeles and broadcast live.

One Direction also joined a long list of celebrity musicians for the 106.1 KISS FM’s Jingle Ball 2015 in Dallas, Texas.

Sadly, after New Year’s Eve, there will be fewer One Direction shows as their March 2016 hiatus date approaches. Will Zayn Malik be there to take up One Direction’s slack in 2016?

For fans that want to buy the limited-edition comic strips of One Direction and Zayn Malik breakup drama can do so between December 3 and 5 p.m. EST on December 18 at the Deezer website.
