‘Love And Hip Hop’ Mendeecees Sentenced: K. Michelle Shares Emotional Statement

Love And Hip Hop star Mendeecees finally learned his fate after waiting years for his sentence. While filming Love And Hip Hop, Mendeecees served time, waiting until his sentencing day. But he managed to get bail and has been at home. He even filmed Love And Hip Hop for a season with his wife, Yandy Smith. As it turns out, she was fighting quite the battle for him, and they started a family together.

Yandy has revealed that the sentencing was hanging over their heads, and she just wanted an answer. The couple decided to have another child, and they recently welcomed another baby into their family, knowing that he could be sentenced. While they didn’t really talk about his legal problems on Love And Hip Hop, it was later revealed in the press that he was facing a harsh sentence due to his involvement in a drug trafficking ring long before he filmed Love And Hip Hop.

According to a new Wetpaint Entertainment report, Love And Hip Hop star Mendeecees has now been sentenced to 97 months behind bars, which is about 8 years. This sentence is similar to Apollo Nida from The Real Housewives of Atlanta, who was sentenced due to his fraudulent business dealings.

“The over flow of support and love and has been overwhelming. Appreciate all your comments, prayers and encouragement but no more sad talk. It’s time to celebrate life, love and happiness tomorrow isn’t promised for any of us,” Mendeecees wrote on Instagram after learning of his sentence.

While Yandy didn’t say much about the sentencing on social media, the Love And Hip Hop community is reacting to the news. K. Michelle, who was a co-star on the show, was shocked when she heard of the news.

“Yandy and Mendeecees I respect u both dearly. Yandy, your dedication and love for your husband is not only motivational to me but inspiring. I’ve been in several relationships but never truly valued love. My motto has been hurt them, before they hurt me. After being apart of your wedding and just witnessing the loyalty and determination to not give up on love and make your family work it opened my eyes. I realized I was loving wrong. Love isn’t for cowards and that’s what I was a coward numb to any emotion. My words were just lies to play the role. I can honestly say I had NEVER truly been in love with any man in my life. I just hated sleeping alone,” K. Michelle revealed about her Love And Hip Hop co-stars, saying that she hadn’t experienced love until she saw her co-stars.

“We all make mistakes and even though Mendeecees is having to pay for them now, his fight to get his life right and love his family is so promising and real. You guys are the definition on REAL black love. In a world where men would much rather run from commitment and think it’s cool to collect hearts you guys are the real deal,” she adds, revealing that time will go by fast for them.

At present time, this Love And Hip Hop star hasn’t been told when and where he will serve his time. One can hope that it will be in New York, so Yandy can take their children to visit him. He was sentenced to 8 years, but it is possible he will only serve some of that sentence. Since he has already served 15 months, the sentence could be 5-6 years instead.

What do you think of this sentence for Mendeecees? Are you surprised that his Love And Hip Hop co-star K. Michelle is reacting to it?
