5 Seconds of Summer star Calum Hood sent his fans into a tailspin on Sunday when he indicated that he may do a Zayn Malik and walk out on the Australian chart-toppers. 5 Seconds of Summer just recently finished their “Rock Out With Your Socks Out” world tour and they recently released their sophomore album Sounds Good, Feels Good. Of course, as 5 Seconds of Summer are discovering, when you release a new album, you are immediately into a huge round of promotional appearances and interviews. So Hood and the rest of 5 Seconds of Summer could be forgiven for wanting the world to slow down for long enough for them to draw a breath.

On Sunday 19-year-old Calum sent a ripple of fear through the 5 Seconds of Summer fandom when he posted a tweets that read “one day I will leave and live a normal life.” Hood deleted the tweet almost immediately but that was too late as 5 Seconds of Summer fans had already taken screenshots and copied the message.

Concern for the young stars well being spread like wildfire as 5 Seconds of Summer fans used the hashtag #WeLoveYouCalum to show their support. It is easy to forget that Hood and his 5 Seconds of Summer bandmates Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford, and Ashton Irwin are young men who have spent most of this year away from their families. Huge tours take their toll on everyone involved and 5 Seconds of Summer are no different.

The good news is that 5 Seconds of Summer fans can breathe more easily, as it appears that Calum has no intention of quitting the band.

According to the Daily Mail, Hood had a very brief and clear message for a reporter who asked him if he was quitting 5 Seconds of Summer. Calum simply laughed and replied, “Oh f**k No.”

You can’t get much more direct than that. TMZ report that Calum denied any intention of quitting 5 Seconds of Summer as they passed through Los Angeles LAX airport. The boys all seemed in high spirits as they took time to talk to 5 Seconds of Summer fans and pose for selfies.

Calum and the rest of 5 Seconds of Summer seemed to be enjoying themselves when they appeared on the Late Late Show with James Cordon.

5 Seconds of Summer even took part in an amusing sketch that painted a previous incarnation of the band as a five-piece musical outfit. Of course there are no prizes for guessing who the mysterious fifth member of 5 Seconds of Summer was. Corden can be seen slumped on a couch with the 5 Seconds of Summer boys whilst wearing a bandana and a Nirvana shirt.

The Dallas Observer reports that, after appearing on Corden’s show, 5 Seconds of Summer headed off to Dallas where they joined the like of One Direction, Ellie Goulding and Demi Lovato for the KISS FM Jingle Ball. Hood even took to Twitter after the show to say how much fun the show had been.

It seems that 5 Seconds of Summer fans can relax, as Calum has no intention of quitting the band anytime soon. 5 Seconds of Summer have another massive world tour planned for the new year.
