Lamar Odom Prognosis ‘Worse Than He Thought,’ ‘Horrifying Secrets’ Revealed

Lamar Odom appeared to be on the fast track to a full recovery just weeks ago, but now, as he remains hospitalized in Los Angeles, new reports continue to surface, claiming Lamar Odom may never get back to his old self.

On October 13, Lamar Odom’s troubles began when he was found unconscious at Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch in Pahrump, Nevada. From there, the former NBA player was taken to the Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas, where he remained in a coma for a few days before waking up and being transported to West Hollywood, California’s Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Since his hospitalization, Lamar Odom’s wife, Khloe Kardashian, has remained at his side. On October 13, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star boarded a private jet after receiving news of Lamar Odom’s dire state, and she remained at his bedside until he arrived in L.A. Although Kardashian has returned to her normal routine in the weeks since Lamar Odom was transported, she continues to visit him frequently and offer her support.

On December 1, a source revealed the following to Radar Online.

“The most difficult aspect of [Lamar Odom]’s recovery, apart from learning to walk, has been dealing with the ongoing incontinence. He has been unable to control his bladder muscles and the urge to go. He refuses to wear an adult diaper, and is going through numerous pairs of underwear daily.”

“The soiled underwear is sent out to a laundry service that returns it the next day to his hospital room,” the source explained. “Doctors are hopeful that as [Lamar Odom] continues to recover, the incontinence won’t be an issue.”

Lamar Odom “has tried to hide the incontinence from visitors as it’s obviously very embarrassing for him,” the source added. “Everyone has been very supportive and no one has joked about it. It’s just terribly humbling and sad to see [Lamar Odom] struggling.”

The report also claimed Lamar Odom’s current state was “worse than he thought,” and noted the former professional athlete’s incontinence as a “horrifying” secret.

According to Radar Online‘s source, Lamar Odom hopes to be out of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center by Christmas. From there, he is expected to continue outpatient care.

In a separate report, shared by TMZ last month, sources claimed Lamar Odom may have suffered excessive brain damage and was unable to recognize friends and family members. According to the source, Lamar Odom’s possible brain damage was causing him to struggle with communication and mobility.

TMZ‘s sources went on to reveal that Lamar Odom had made “little progression in the last couple weeks,” and said he was only able to speak a word “here and there.”

“The scariest part… [Lamar Odom] can’t recognize longtime friends and even family members when they come to visit. We’re told docs believe he’s suffered significant brain damage,” the site reported.

Lamar Odom was rumored to be facing drug charges when news of his overdose was first revealed, but recently, a separate TMZ report claimed the D.A. would likely change their mind due to Lamar Odom’s current state. Although blood tests revealed Lamar Odom was on cocaine at the time he was hospitalized, the Nye County D.A. is said to be backing down from a possible case against Lamar Odom after considering his ongoing medical care and mental state.

The report also explained that Lamar Odom “might not even be legally competent to stand trial.”
