Kendall Jenner, Gigi Hadid Most Wanted Of 2015: The Secret To Their Success

Unsurprisingly, Kendall Jenner has been named as the most wanted face of 2015, according to a list released by the Very Important Endorser.

The list was curated by engagement tool Celebrity Intelligence, which looked for the most in-demand celebrities in the U.K. and U.S., based on the most searched and most viewed celebrities from over 2,5000 industry professionals. The 20-year-old Jenner snagged the top spot since she’s been in 14 fashion campaigns in the past year, including Balmain, Calvin Klein, and Estée Lauder. Jenner knocked 2014 Beyoncé off the list, while her fellow models Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid rounded out the second and third spots respectively, according to the Drum.

The top six spots were taken over by models, and consists of women, most of which make their living from being a model and making a brand for themselves. Here is the complete top 10 list of the most wanted faces of 2015.

It’s no surprise that these famous besties and reality stars are on the list. Models are ruling Hollywood and pop culture once again like they did in the 90s. Kendall and Gigi are the ones who are nailing the high profile fashion campaigns these days. Designers no longer want pop stars or actresses as the face of their campaigns. And models like Gigi and Kendall are also scoring the covers of fashion magazines once again — something else we haven’t seen since the 90s.

It also helps that these ladies have social media to give them the boost and exposure they need. Both Hadid, 20, and Jenner have millions of followers, which helps boost any ad campaign they’re in. While Jenner landed a whopping 14 campaigns, Hadid landed nine, along with becoming a Victoria’s Secret Angel.

So, how did Gigi Hadid conquer Hollywood? Around this time last year, she was barely famous. In fact, Gigi was known for her appearances on Bravo’s reality show, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. She’s the daughter of multimillionaires Yolanda Foster and Mohammed Hadid. Now she’s known for dating former One Direction hottie Zayn Malik. She’s also that face you saw in Calvin Harris’ “How Deep Is Your Love” music video. In addition, Gigi has starred in advertising campaigns for Maybelline cosmetics, Guess Jeans, and Topshop’s fall/winter campaign. Gigi has also been the face of the H&M Balmain collection, and has walked in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

Kendall and Kylie Jenner were close friends with the Hadids growing up. Yolanda and Kris are actually best friends. Now it makes sense as to why Kendall and Gigi are models who both stem from famous TV families. Being associated with the Kardashian-Jenner clan has also helped Gigi’s career. Gigi and Kendall are both likable and marketable thanks to their close friendship that works in both photo shoots and paparazzi photos, and they share a stylist, so they’re able to capture headlines with their similar sense of style.

It also helps that Hadid and Jenner are part of Taylor Swift’s girl squad. Both girls appeared onstage with Swift on her 1989 World Tour and in her party pics on Instagram. It also doesn’t hurt the fact that Hadid’s love life has been making headlines since being linked to Australian pop star Cody Simpson, former JoBro Joe Jonas, and the aforementioned Zayn Malik. As for Jenner, she tends to keep her personal life private, but she’s been linked to Formula One driver Louis Hamilton, Justin Bieber, and actor Michael B. Jordan.

It’s no secret that people love celebrity best friends, as noted by the Daily Beast. Remember Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie? Or Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez? The reason why Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid are so successful is that their friendship and their selfies make them relatable to their fans. Heck, their friendship and fame even inspired a New York City mural by artist Bradley Theodore on the Lower East Side’s Hotel Chantelle.
